Responsibilities The successful candidate will have experience in leading the development and delivery of integral part of highways and highway drainage projects through various stages of the design process from feasibility to planning detailed design and onto construction Responsibilities You will be working on a range of highways schemes associated with highway drainage elements You will be responsible for producing drainage engineering designs modelling and construction drawings independently for various UK schemes using the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and other relevant standards You will be expected to play a proactive part in the design process and to be active on several projects at any given time You will coordinate inputs and outputs with other disciplines to produce an integrated design Mandatory Skills Valuable command of written and verbal English Significant experience in road highway drainage design for infrastructure projects including Surface and foul water hydraulic modelling hydrological analysis and the preparation of technical approval designs and drawings Ability to design and model drainage networks 2d 3d including SuDS features Fully conversant with software like Micro Drainage InfoDrainage Sewer GEMS Sewer CAD Civil 3d etc UK international project experience essential in particular in the application of standards similar to DMRB CIRIA Sewers for adoption DCG etc and developing designs and drawings in compliant with Section S38 S278 S104 applications Problem solving and originality Cultural awareness conscientious and an open mind are essential requirements for the role High degree of self-motivation and ability to motivate others Ability to work under pressure and with minimum of supervision Ability to check work to ensure quality deliverables A proficiency in AutoCAD MS Word and MS Excel is also expected Desired skills but not essential Project management and line management welcomed but not essential Project estimations and bid support strategies for resource management Detailing support on general arrangement drawings and CAD supervision CDM regulations and its application Quick in checking process and validate the designs models ensure the quality UK client interactions and plan through project delivery Qualifications and Experience B Tech in Civil Engineering or equivalent with good length of relevant experience M Tech in Hydraulics Water Resources Engineering or equivalent will be given preference Minimum of 4 years of experience in Highway drainage and Storm water drainage
