Date 30 Jul 2025 Location IN Company Coats Position Title Director - Supply Chain Planning Transformation Band 3 Business Unit Global Supply Chain Location Remote any countries with sizable Coats operations preferred Division Apparel Reports to Global Supply Chain and Planning Director Role Purpose This leadership role within the Coats Global Supply Chain organization is responsible for transforming global supply chain planning by developing and executing a strategic roadmap that modernizes demand and supply planning S OP and digital tools It combines oversight of business-as-usual BAU planning excellence with leadership of transformation initiatives that leverage AI and advanced technologies to enhance operational agility efficiency and future readiness The role plays a critical part in delivering business growth and customer value through robust planning and execution It also involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive innovation streamline processes and implement scalable solutions aligned with Coats long-term strategic goals Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities Strategy Transformation Leadership Develop and execute a multi-year transformation roadmap for supply chain planning Lead cross-functional initiatives to redesign planning processes and implement advanced planning systems including ERP changes enhancements etc that are linked to Planning Drive change management and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful adoption Planning Process Excellence Oversee the design and implementation of best-in-class demand supply and inventory planning processes Work with the central planning teams to make the global S OP IBP processes more consistent robust and repeatable delivering alignment with commercial financial and operational goals Technology Data Enablement projects along with Digital Technology Partner with D T and external vendors to implement and optimize digital planning tools Increase internal capability for simulations optimization techniques and scenario planning in supply chain planning and execution Ensure data integrity governance and analytics capabilities to support planning decisions Drive automation and AI ML adoption in planning processes Re-engineer Automate key planning processes and steps using AI Traditional Agentic AI Team Leadership Capability Building Support in the development of the capability of the central planning and local execution teams Develop Drive training programs and career paths for planning professionals Documentation of standard SOPs in Planning Performance Management Reporting Define and track KPIs to measure planning effectiveness and transformation progress Provide analytical support for executive decision-making and performance reviews Ensure timely and accurate reporting across planning functions Reporting relationships Direct Reports Currently NONE but envisaged for the future Key Collaborators Chief Operations Officer Central Planning Managers FG SFG RM Supply Chain Logistics Heads of key markets countries Commercial leadership teams Managing Directors of markets countries Digital and technology teams External consultants and technology vendors for planning optimization etc Key Relationships Internal - Country Cluster Supply Chain Leaders Global Procurement Manufacturing Quality Product Management Global Digital Technology Teams Finance and Commercial Strategy Teams External - Technology vendors e g SAP Kinaxis o9 Consulting partners for transformation and change management Supply chain associations best practice firms such as Gartner Education Qualifications and Experience Essential - Bachelor s degree in supply chain Engineering or Business 15 years in supply chain with 5 years in planning transformation Deep expertise in supply chain planning concepts on an end-to-end basis working methodologies S OP IBP Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills Proficiency in planning tools SAP IBP Kinaxis o9 etc Expert level understanding of ERP Desirable -MBA or master s in supply chain Experience in global matrixed organizations Certifications APICS CPIM CSCP PMP Experience with AI ML in planning Track record of successful transformation delivery At Coats Group we are committed to innovation excellence and fostering a diverse and collaborative environment where every team member can thrive If you are passionate about making an impact in the textile industry and eager to join a global leader with a rich heritage and a forward-thinking approach we invite you to take the next step in your career with us Apply now to be part of our agile team and help shape the future of textiles Coats Group plc Coats is a world leader in thread manufacturing and structural components for apparel and footwear as well as an innovative pioneer in performance materials
