Insurity's Next Manager, Development

The Development Manager leads a high-performing engineering team responsible for delivering scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable software solutions while helping scale the India engineering organization for Enterprise AI Suite and adjacent strategic initiatives. This role combines people leadership, delivery management, cross-functional coordination, and engineering excellence. The ideal candidate brings strong experience building teams, driving predictable execution, supporting senior leaders with team scaling, and coaching engineers and related technical roles. The role will also promote responsible adoption of AI-assisted and agentic engineering tools to improve engineering productivity, quality, and delivery outcomes.

Responsibilities

- Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing, highly engaged team of individual contributors, typically performing similar functions
- Interview, hire, onboard, and retain exceptional talent
- Provide input to departmental goals and ensure goals are met
- Adopt and reinforce company policies, processes, and programs
- Lead team members using the company's performance management and development process
- Support a culture that emphasizes the strategy, guiding principles and core values
- Communicate effectively & regularly with team members, peers, and leaders
- Manage financial responsibilities and activities
- Develop and maintain trusted customer relationships
- Effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders
- Drive utilization across team
- Communicate financial and goal results, and KPIs to direct reports




- Perform tasks as an individual contributor to support the team as needed

Qualifications

- 5 years in domain or relevant Insurity experience
- Bachelor's degree in related field (equivalent work experience may be considered)
- Proven success leading high-performing engineering teams through the full software development lifecycle and into production operations
- Strong people-leadership skills, with experience coaching, developing, mentoring, and inspiring engineers and technical professionals
- Experience supporting hiring, onboarding, performance management, succession planning, career development, and team scaling
- Ability to manage planning, prioritization, execution tracking, dependencies, delivery governance, capacity planning, and delivery risk across multiple workstreams
- Experience building engineering capacity and strengthening geographically distributed product and engineering organizations
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, APIs, DevSecOps, observability, production operations, and modern software delivery practices
- Ability to drive engineering excellence across code quality, automated testing, secure-by-design development, documentation, observability, production support, and continuous improvement
- Experience partnering with product, architecture, QA, DevOps, platform engineering, and business stakeholders to translate needs into actionable technical plans
