.Role Descriptio n The Zonal Merchant Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Purnea, responsible for driving merchant acquisition, activation, and engagement within the assigned zone. The role involves identifying and onboarding new merchants, building strong relationships with existing merchant partners, and ensuring effective utilization of Airtel Payments Bank products and services.

Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring merchant performance metrics, conducting regular market visits,



coordinating with internal teams for process improvements, and implementing local strategies to increase transaction volumes and revenue.

The Zonal Merchant

Lead will also train field teams and merchant partners on digital payment solutions, ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory guidelines, and provide data-driven insights to support decision-making and zonal growth

.Qualification s

- Strong experience in merchant acquisition, relationship management, and field sales within financial services, fintech, or related sectors
- .Proficiency in managing zonal operations, including performance tracking, market analysis, and execution of growth strategies
- .Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, lead and motivate on-ground staff, and build sustainable partnerships
- .Comfort with digital banking products, payment solutions, and basic data analysis tools to interpret reports and drive actions
- .Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage diverse merchant profiles and stakeholders
- .Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage
- .Proven ability to work in dynamic, high-growth environments, with strong problem-solving skills and accountability for results
- .Familiarity with the local market in Purnea and surrounding regions, and willingness to travel extensively within the zone
