About The Role The US Medical Billing Specialist - Payment Posting & Accounts Receivable (Day Shift) is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Pune Division, offering partial work-from-home flexibility to accommodate a balanced work environment. This position is integral to the revenue cycle management process, ensuring accurate and timely posting of payments from insurance carriers and patients into the billing system. The specialist will be responsible for reconciling daily deposits, identifying underpayments or incorrect postings, and managing accounts receivable activities to optimize cash flow.
The role requires close collaboration with insurance companies, internal teams, and clients to resolve claim denials, follow up on unpaid claims, and ensure compliance with US healthcare billing standards. The ideal candidate will possess a detail-oriented approach, analytical mindset, and excellent communication skills to support the company's commitment to delivering high-quality financial management services.
Qualifications Strong knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with US healthcare documentation practices.
Experience working with insurance carriers, including commercial insurance plans and government payers such as Medicare.
Proficiency with ICD-10 coding and understanding of its application to billing and claims processing.
Hands-on experience handling denials, including analyzing root causes, preparing appeals, and implementing corrective actions.
Prior experience in US medical billing, payment posting, and accounts receivable management.
Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment based in the Pune Division, maintaining productivity and clear communication.
Strong analytical, numerical accuracy, and attention to detail skills, with proficiency in relevant billing software and MS Office tools.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and insurance representatives.
Relevant diploma or degree in healthcare, finance, commerce, or a related field;
certification in medical billing and coding is an advantage.
Responsibilities The US Medical Billing Specialist will be responsible for posting payments accurately from insurance carriers and patients into the billing system, ensuring that all transactions are correctly recorded and reconciled daily. They will review remittance advice (EOBs), verify the accuracy of payments, and identify any discrepancies or underpayments. Managing accounts receivable involves monitoring aging reports, following up on unpaid or denied claims, and collaborating with insurance companies to resolve issues promptly.
The specialist will analyze claim denials, determine root causes, and prepare appeals or corrective actions to recover revenue effectively. Maintaining detailed documentation of all interactions, adjustments,
and resolutions is essential for audit purposes and ongoing process improvement. The role also includes updating billing records, ensuring compliance with US healthcare billing standards, and working closely with internal teams such as coding, compliance, and customer support to ensure seamless revenue cycle operations.
The candidate will be expected to maintain a high level of accuracy, prioritize tasks efficiently, and communicate effectively with stakeholders to maximize revenue recovery and operational efficiency.
