Role & responsibilities The IP Manager will be responsible for the overall management and smooth functioning of in-patient services, ensuring efficient patient flow, timely admissions and discharges, coordination among clinical and non-clinical departments, and delivery of a high-quality patient experience.
The role requires strong coordination with Doctors, Nursing, Billing, Insurance/TPA, Pharmacy, Diagnostics, Housekeeping, Dietary, Front Office, Medical Records, and other support departments to ensure seamless patient care and operational efficiency.
1. Key Responsibilities
A. In-Patient Operations
- Manage the day-to-day operations of all in-patient services.
- Ensure smooth and timely patient admission, bed allocation, transfer, and discharge processes.
- Monitor bed occupancy, bed availability, room allocation, and patient movement.
- Coordinate with nursing and clinical teams for effective utilization of beds.
- Ensure timely completion of discharge processes and minimize unnecessary delays.
- Monitor and resolve operational issues affecting patient flow.
- Ensure adequate coordination during interdepartmental and inter-unit patient transfers.
B. Patient Experience
- Ensure a high standard of patient and attendant experience throughout the hospital stay.
- Address patient and attendant concerns related to room allocation, services,
delays, coordination, and other operational matters.
- Coordinate with concerned departments for timely resolution of complaints.
- Monitor patient feedback and identify opportunities for service improvement.
- Ensure professional communication and courteous behaviour by staff interacting with patients and attendants.
C. Coordination with Clinical Teams
- Coordinate closely with consultants, doctors, nursing teams, and allied healthcare departments.
- Facilitate smooth communication between clinical and support departments.
- Follow up on pending investigations, procedures, consultations, and other patient-related requirements.
- Escalate critical operational issues to the concerned HOD/Administrator promptly.
- Support the clinical team in ensuring continuity and timely delivery of patient services.
Preferred candidate profile
- Degree or Post Graduation in Hospital Administration (MHA), Healthcare Management (MBA), or related fields.
- Experience: 3 to 10+ years in hospital operations and inpatient care management.
- Skills: Solid communication, team leadership, conflict resolution, and familiarity with Hospital Information Systems
