About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Transport Manager to manage transportation and reverse logistics operations for our Returnable Packaging Solutions. The person will be responsible for planning and controlling vehicle movement, transporter management, route optimization, packaging collection and delivery, vehicle utilization, cost control and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end transportation operations for returnable packaging assets.
- Plan daily vehicle deployment based on customer requirements and packaging movement.
- Coordinate movement of empty and loaded pallets, bins, trolleys, and FLCs
- Manage primary and secondary transportation as applicable.
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of returnable packaging.
- Plan reverse logistics routes to optimize vehicle utilization and reduce empty running.
- Coordinate with customers, warehouses, transporters and operations teams.
- Monitor vehicle placement, loading, dispatch, transit and delivery status.
- Track vehicle movement through GPS/transport management systems where applicable.
- Manage transporter network, rates, availability and performance.
- Negotiate and manage transportation costs within approved budgets.
- Monitor freight bills, PODs, trip sheets and transportation documentation.
- Ensure proper documentation for every packaging movement.
- Monitor vehicle turnaround time and improve fleet utilization.
- Develop and maintain daily transport MIS and management dashboards.
- Monitor delayed vehicles, missed pickups,



breakdowns and other transportation abnormalities.
- Take corrective action for delays, shortages, damages and customer complaints.
- Ensure compliance with statutory transportation requirements and company safety policies.
- Monitor transporter compliance, vehicle fitness, insurance, permits and driver documentation.
- Ensure safe loading and unloading of returnable packaging.
- Develop transport SOPs, escalation matrices and contingency plans.
- Review transporter performance and conduct periodic performance reviews.
- Identify opportunities for route optimization, cost reduction and process improvement.
- Support business expansion by developing a reliable transportation network.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of transportation and reverse logistics.
- Experience in 3PL, automotive/manufacturing industry, returnable packaging or supply chain operations.
- Solid transporter and fleet management skills.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
- Good knowledge of Excel, MIS, and transport tracking systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple locations and transporters.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Knowledge of transportation compliance and documentation.

Qualification

Graduate / MBA / Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport Management or a related field.

Preferred Experience: 5–10 years in Transport Management, 3PL, Reverse Logistics, Automotive Logistics or Returnable Packaging operations.
