**WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH** This role sits within Global Technology Corporate Functions, working directly with the BAAT Team and GPS Tech squads, and partners closely with Security, Cloud Governance, FinOps, and Application Engineering teams. The Lead Engineer collaborates across product, platform, and operations groups to ensure compliant, resilient, and cost-efficient platforms supporting critical Nike applications. **WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR** We are looking for a highly experienced Software Engineer IV (Lead Engineer) with deep expertise in **cloud infrastructure, site reliability engineering, and governance-driven delivery** . This individual is a technical leader who thrives in complex enterprise environments and can translate policy, security, and cost optimization requirements into scalable engineering solutions. You bring strong AWS experience, infrastructure-as-code mastery, and a track record of leading cross-team initiatives that improve compliance, reliability, and operational efficiency. You are comfortable influencing without authority, documenting durable standards, and owning outcomes from design through execution in production environments. Key Skills & Qualifications: + 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with **senior or lead** - **level responsibilities** . + Strong experience designing and operating **distributed, production** - **grade systems** . + Hands-on expertise with **cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and automation** . + Proven ability to **lead technically across teams** without direct reporting authority. + Experience supporting **mission** - **critical systems in a 24x7 production environment** .
+ Collaborate closely with **product managers, architects, and partner teams** across geographies. + Clearly communicate complex technical topics to diverse audiences. + Mentor and coach engineers through design reviews, pairing, and technical guidance. + Contribute to a culture of **ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement** within ITC. **WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON** The **Lead Site Reliability Engineer (SWEIV)** is a hands-on technical leader responsible for **building, scaling, and operating reliable software platforms and services** that power Nike's **Global Places & Services (GPS) Technology** and **Brand Acceleration and Automation Technology (BAAT)** portfolios. This role includes work on SaaS applications, 3rd Party Application Integration, and Custom Built solutions for Nike. + Design and evolve **high** - **availability, scalable backend systems and shared services** . + Translate product and business requirements into **transparent technical designs, execution plans, and engineering backlogs** . + Review designs and code for critical services, raising quality, reliability, and maintainability standards. + Own **production reliability, performance, and availability** for supported services. + Define and monitor **SLOs, SLIs,
