Sumukha Automation Pvt. Ltd. specialises in the manufacture of wind blade mould fixtures, logistic fixtures for the road transport and shipping of wind blades, wind towers and wind hubs. To support this growth, we are looking for a capable
Technical Project Manager to take ownership of end-to-end project execution.
- POSITION SUMMARY The Technical Project Manager owns the delivery of fabrication and manufacturing projects from receipt of order through to final dispatch.
Working across engineering, procurement, production, quality and dispatch, the role ensures every project is delivered to specification, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards. The successful candidate combines sound mechanical-engineering knowledge with strong planning, coordination and communication skills, and acts as the primary technical and commercial interface between the shop floor, management, customers and the design partner. 3.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Project Planning & Execution
- Prepare and maintain detailed project execution plans, production schedules and Gantt charts; define scope, deliverables, milestones and resource requirements.
- Track progress against the baseline, manage the critical path, and drive corrective action to recover any slippage.
- Identify, monitor and expedite long-lead and critical items to protect delivery dates.
Technical
Coordination
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, general-arrangement and fabrication drawings, bills of material and specifications; resolve technical queries with design and production.
- Provide manufacturability (DFM) input and translate design intent into clear, workable shop-floor instructions.
- Guide production and welding teams on methods,
sequences and applicable technical standards. Procurement & Materials
- Coordinate closely with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and bought-out items against the production plan.
- Monitor material status, flag supply risks early, and reconcile availability with the schedule to keep production flowing. Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure work conforms to applicable codes and standards (e.g. EN ISO 3834-2, IS 2062, and the ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 management system).
- Coordinate inspections, ITPs, NDT and documentation (material test certificates, weld records, dispatch dossiers); manage NCRs and corrective actions.
- Champion safe working practices and housekeeping on the shop floor. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers and the design partner; run kick-off meetings, progress reviews and minutes of meeting.
- Prepare clear progress reports, dashboards and status updates for management and customers. Commercial & Cost Control
- Support estimation and quotations; track actual project cost against budget and protect project margin.
Manage variations and change orders, assessing their impact on price and delivery. Team & Resource Coordination
- Plan and allocate resources; coordinate and motivate cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.
- Support capacity planning and continuous improvement of throughput and on-time delivery. 4.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE - Bachelor’s degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the manufacturing sector — fabrication,
heavy / structural engineering or capital-equipment manufacturing preferred.
- Sound, well-rounded engineering knowledge, including the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage customers, suppliers and internal teams clearly and professionally.
- DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES (ADDED ADVANTAGE) - A postgraduate qualification — M.Tech, or an MBA / PGDM in Operations, Project or Manufacturing Management.
- A recognised project-management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent.
- Hands-on exposure to structural-steel fabrication, welding processes (SMAW / GMAW / GTAW) and surface treatment.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 and EN ISO 3834 requirements.
- Familiarity with project-scheduling tools (MS Project / Primavera) and ERP / MRP systems.
- Experience coordinating with international customers or partners. 6.

- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T; understanding of core fabrication processes (cutting, machining, forming,
welding and finishing) and engineering materials.
- Competence with project-planning tools, strong MS Excel skills, and a working grasp of cost-estimation fundamentals. Behavioural & Managerial
