Key Responsibilities
Stores & Inventory Management
- Manage day-to-day store operations and ensure smooth receipt, storage, and issue of materials.
- Maintain proper records of GRN, Material Receipt, Material Issue, Stock Transfer, and Returnable/Non-Returnable Gate Passes.
- Monitor stock levels, minimum/maximum stock, and reorder requirements.
- Ensure proper identification, tagging, preservation, and storage of materials.
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile discrepancies.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper documentation and ERP transactions.
- Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory.
Purchase & Procurement
- Handle procurement of MRO items, mechanical/electrical spares, consumables, tools, PPE, and general materials.
- Float enquiries/RFQs to approved and potential vendors and obtain competitive quotations.
- Prepare comparative statements and coordinate for purchase approvals.
- Negotiate with vendors regarding price, quality, delivery, payment terms, and other commercial conditions.
- Prepare Purchase Orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Follow up with vendors for pending orders and expedite critical materials.
- Develop and maintain a reliable vendor base.
Power Sector Material Knowledge
- Should have knowledge of materials used in Power Plants/CHP/O&M; activities, such as:
- Mechanical spares
- Electrical spares
- Bearings, belts, lubricants and fasteners
- Valves, pumps and pipes
- Welding consumables
- Safety/PPE items
- Tools and tackles
- Electrical cables and accessories
- General engineering and maintenance consumables
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain proper purchase and store documentation as per company procedures.
- Coordinate with Finance, Maintenance,
Operations, Projects, and Administration for material requirements.
- Ensure procurement is carried out within approved budgets and company policies.
- Maintain vendor records, quotations, comparative statements, POs and delivery documents.
- Support internal and statutory audits related to stores and procurement.
ERP / MIS Responsibilities
- Update all material receipts, issues, transfers, and purchase transactions in ERP/SAP/Tally or other inventory systems.
- Prepare regular MIS reports related to:
- Stock position
- Purchase status
- Pending orders
- Material consumption
- Critical/shortage items
- Slow-moving/non-moving inventory
- Maintain strong working knowledge of MS Excel for inventory and procurement reporting.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Stores & Purchase operations.
- Good understanding of power plant/CHP/O&M; materials.
- Vendor development and negotiation skills.
- Valuable knowledge of inventory control and material management.
- ERP/SAP experience preferred.
- Good MS Excel and MIS reporting skills.
- Strong coordination and follow-up skills.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage urgent material requirements.
Educational Qualification
- Graduate/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Production/Material Management or equivalent.
- Diploma/degree in Supply Chain Management/Stores & Procurement will be an added advantage.
Experience
5–8 years of relevant experience in Stores & Purchase, preferably in Power Plant, CHP, Infrastructure, Manufacturing, or Heavy Engineering industries.
Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
