Job Summary
As a Member of Technical Staff 2 in SAN Engineering, you will be responsible for resolving complex customer-impacting issues across SAN and storage environments. You will partner with Support and cross-functional engineering teams to perform deep technical investigation, drive root-cause analysis, and deliver sustainable product fixes and improvements.
You will
- Investigate and resolve complex customer issues across SAN, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, multipathing, SCSI/NVMe, and storage protocols.
- Perform root-cause analysis using logs, traces, packet captures, core dumps, telemetry, and system debugging.
- Reproduce issues, identify defects, and develop or validate code fixes and solutions.
- Collaborate with Support, Development, QA, Product Management, and engineering teams to resolve issues.
- Develop automation to speed troubleshooting, enhance efficiency, and reduce repeat issues.
- Contribute to product reliability, supportability, and diagnosability via reviews and best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to build expertise in SAN troubleshooting and issue resolution.
Job Requirements
- Extensive SAN/storage and enterprise storage experience
- Knowledge of Google Cloud, distributed cloud, K8s, and container orchestration
- Robust OS, networking, and distributed systems understanding
- Proficient in C/C++ and Python with debugging skills
- Analytical problem-solving for complex storage systems
- Excellent communication and collaboration with global teams
- Experience with Fibre Channel switches, SAN fabrics, multipathing, virtualization, NVMe/FC
- Skilled in developing diagnostic and automation tools
- Experience with enterprise customers and customer-facing teams
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 2 - 4 years of relevant experience
