About The Role We are currently hiring for a Software Engineer position on behalf of our esteemed client, Pike Automation. This role is ideal for a professional with a solid foundation in C#/.NET development and a keen interest in industrial automation systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Level 2 automation systems tailored for industrial and manufacturing environments.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge automation projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance manufacturing processes through innovative software solutions. Candidates with at least one year of relevant experience, coupled with exposure to industrial or manufacturing domains, are encouraged to apply. The role requires a proactive approach, strong technical skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality, scalable applications that support critical plant operations.
Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 2+ years of hands-on software development experience with C# and the .NET framework. A strong understanding of programming fundamentals and the ability to independently write, debug, and explain production-level code are essential. Proficiency in developing enterprise-grade applications using ASP.NET, Windows Services, and REST APIs is required.
Candidates should have practical experience working with SQL Server and/or Oracle databases, including designing schemas, writing complex queries, stored procedures, and triggers. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline is mandatory. Exposure to industrial automation, Level 2 systems, or manufacturing environments will be highly advantageous.
Candidates with 1+ year of relevant domain experience, particularly in industrial or manufacturing sectors, will also be considered.
Responsibilities The Software Engineer will be tasked with designing, developing, and maintaining Level 2 automation systems essential for industrial plant operations. This includes creating applications for process monitoring, production tracking, reporting, alarm management, data logging, and process optimization. The role involves building robust enterprise applications utilizing C#, .NET Framework/.NET Core, ASP.NET, and REST APIs, ensuring seamless communication between PLCs, SCADA, MES, ERP, laboratory systems, and other industrial equipment through industrial communication protocols and APIs.
The candidate will design and manage databases using Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle, writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and database schemas to support real-time data acquisition and processing modules. Participation in system architecture discussions and contributing to scalable, high-performance solutions are key aspects of the role. Additionally, the engineer will perform testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to ensure system reliability.
Support during onsite commissioning, deployment,
and system integration at client locations will be required, along with collaboration with automation engineers, plant teams, and project managers. The role also entails preparing technical documentation, deployment guides, and user manuals, as well as providing post-implementation support and recommending continuous improvements. Staying updated on the latest trends in Industrial Automation, Smart Manufacturing, Industrial IoT, and Digital Transformation is vital to ensure the solutions remain innovative and effective.
