How You'll Help Us Keep Climbing (Overview & Key Responsibilities) Develop and maintain microservices using Java, Python, and Spring Boot. Build and enhance REST APIs supporting core retail workflows such as order management, cart operations, product catalog services, and store operations. Participate in the development of full-stack features, including UI integrations where required.
Assist in implementing event-driven workflows using messaging platforms. Deploy and manage applications on AWS services including EC2, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, and CloudWatch. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, or equivalent tooling.
Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code following engineering best practices. Develop and execute unit tests and integration tests for developed features. Work with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL and MongoDB.
Collaborate with Product, QA, Architecture, and Engineering teams throughout sprint cycles. Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance. Leverage AI-powered development platforms and coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Amazon Q, Kiro, Cursor, CodeWhisperer, or equivalent tools to enhance development productivity and code quality.
Apply AI-assisted engineering practices for code generation, debugging, test automation, documentation, code reviews, and knowledge discovery. Contribute to the development and adoption of AI-enabled features, intelligent workflows, and automation solutions within retail applications. Participate in building agentic workflows and intelligent automation capabilities aligned with modern software architectures.
Effectively operate within Human + AI collaboration models while ensuring engineering quality, security, compliance, and business alignment.
Continuously evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to improve software development lifecycle processes.
What You Need To
Succeed (Minimum Qualifications) 2 - 4 years of professional software development experience. Robust programming skills in Java with hands-on experience in Spring Boot. Working knowledge of Python for backend development, scripting, or automation. Good understanding of Microservices Architecture and REST API design principles.
Experience with SQL databases and exposure to NoSQL databases. Basic hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
Experience with source control systems such as GitHub or GitLab. Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities. Good communication and collaboration skills.
Hands-on experience leveraging AI-enabled development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Amazon Q, Kiro, Cursor, Code Whisperer,
or equivalent AI coding assistants throughout the software development lifecycle. Practical experience using AI tools for code generation, debugging, refactoring, test case creation, documentation, code reviews, and developer productivity improvements. Understanding of AI-assisted software engineering practices and prompt engineering fundamentals.
Awareness of agentic AI concepts, intelligent automation frameworks, and autonomous workflow orchestration. Ability to effectively operate within Human + AI collaboration models, integrating AI generated outputs into engineering workflows while ensuring quality and security standards. Demonstrated AI-first and automation-first engineering mindset.

What Will Give
You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications) Exposure to event-driven systems such as Kafka, AWS Kinesis, or similar platforms. Basic knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and JWT. Exposure to Generative AI platforms, LLM-based solutions, or AI integration patterns. Familiarity with agent frameworks such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, AutoGen, or equivalent technologies.
Understanding of responsible AI principles, AI governance, and secure AI adoption practices.
Experience with workflow automation and intelligent business process automation. Retail domain or related industry experience.
