About The Role The position of AS40 Developer at Tata Consultancy Services is a critical role designed for experienced professionals who possess a strong background in AS400 and RPG programming. This role involves analyzing client requirements, designing technical solutions, and implementing these solutions efficiently within the AS400 environment. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of the development lifecycle, from requirement analysis to coding and testing, ensuring that deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.

As part of this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients across India, contributing to the successful delivery of projects that enhance business operations and technological capabilities.

Qualifications Minimum of 5+ years of experience in AS400 development and related technologies.

Proficiency in RPG, RPGIV, RPGLE, CL, CLLE, DB2/400, and SQL.

Strong understanding of requirement analysis, technical design, and implementation.

Experience in designing optimal and industry best-practice solutions.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.





Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities Analyze requirements provided by clients, understanding the complete impact on existing systems and processes.

Design technical solutions that are efficient, scalable, and aligned with industry best practices.

Develop and modify RPG400 programs to meet functional requirements, ensuring code quality and error-free delivery.

Implement changes in the AS400 environment, adhering to project timelines and quality standards.

Collaborate with functional analysts, project managers, and clients to ensure seamless communication and project success.

Participate in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting to maintain high standards of software quality.

Document technical specifications and development processes for future reference and support.

Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to AS400 and RPG development.
