We are looking for a Simulation Engineer – Intralogistics & Material Flow to design, model and optimise next-generation automated warehouses, fulfilment centres and dark-factory environments. You will be responsible for determining how the facility should operate - modelling material flow, analysing throughput, identifying bottlenecks, sizing automation and validating proposed layouts before implementation. You will work closely with the Digital Twin Engineer, who converts your facility specifications into a 3D digital twin, and with the ERP team to connect simulation assumptions with real operational data.

You will build and validate simulation models rather than commission hardware, wire PLCs or develop live system integrations Key Responsibilities

Design current and retrofit layouts for dark factories, distribution and fulfilment centres Build and validate discrete-event simulation models of warehouse operations - receiving, putaway, slotting, picking, packing, sorting and dispatch.

Run throughput analysis, identify bottlenecks and quantify the cost of resolving them Size and specify automation: AMR/AGV fleet counts, AS/RS, conveyors, sorters and shuttles Optimise space utilisation, storage strategy,



flow paths and racking configuration Build the automation ROI and business case for each design Validate models against real operational data from WMS / ERP / IoT systems Translate specifications into layout requirements for the Omniverse twin Document methodology, assumptions and results for client stakeholders Must Have

0–1 years in warehouse/DC design, material handling or manufacturing industrial engineering Discrete-event simulation in one of: FlexSim, AnyLogic, Simio, Tecnomatix Plant Simulation Warehouse operations depth: order picking, packing, shipping, receiving and inventory management Material handling systems: AS/RS, conveyors, sorters, shuttles, AMR/AGV fleets Throughput analysis, bottleneck identification and material flow optimisation, with a track record of measurable improvement Layout design: aisle widths, clearances, storage density and flow paths Python for data analysis — Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib; able to analyse large WMS/IoT datasets to build and validate models CAD and layout literacy (AutoCAD or equivalent) Clear written reporting to non-technical stakeholders Strongly Preferred

WMS / ERP integration exposure — SAP EWM, Manhattan Associates, SAP, Oracle Warehouse automation vendor evaluation and technology selection Omniverse / OpenUSD exposure — ability to work directly within the digital twin PLC / SCADA / HMI data familiarity Lean / Six Sigma R or Tableau for analysis and visualisation Good to Have

Dark factory or lights-out automation projects NVIDIA cuOpt, OR-Tools, or VRP/TSP optimisation Greenfield facility commissioning Digital twin platform experience (Siemens Plant Simulation, Ansys Twin Builder, FlexSim 3D) About us:
