Role Summary
Should Cost Engineer with robust mechanical engineering fundamentals and 6+ years of experience in EV 2-wheeler products. The candidate must be able to build detailed should-cost models for components such as suspension, frame, fenders, and similar mechanical items.
Key Responsibilities
Develop bottom-up should-cost models for mechanical components including suspension, frame/chassis, fenders, brackets, etc.
Analyse manufacturing processes: welding, machining, stamping, injection molding, casting, forging and machine.
Conduct DFM/DFA and VA/VE activities.
Support supplier negotiations using cost models.
Perform tear-downs and benchmarking studies.
Maintain cost databases, templates and rate cards.
Support NPI with early cost visibility.
Required Qualifications
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 6 years’ experience in should costing for EV 2-wheelers or similar.
Strong knowledge of metal and plastic manufacturing processes.
Hands-on with CAD for measurement.
Expertise in Excel and cost modeling.
Experience with supplier discussions and cost validation.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Indian 2-wheeler supply chain.
Knowledge of tooling estimation.
Exposure to APQP/PPAP.
Power BI or dashboard skills
