Working at Mariinox provides an opportunity to contribute to the development of modern vehicle recycling and circular-economy operations while gaining hands-on experience in large-scale plant management, mechanical systems, dismantling processes, material segregation, and sustainable resource recovery. ⸻ Role Description The Shift Manager – Mechanical is a full-time, on-site role based in Roorkee, responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of mechanical equipment, machinery, and plant systems during the assigned shift. The role involves planning and supervising preventive and corrective maintenance, monitoring equipment health and performance, minimizing machine downtime, and ensuring that all maintenance activities comply with established safety, quality, and operational standards.

The Shift

Manager will coordinate with technicians, plant operations, production, safety, and engineering teams to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.



The position will also be responsible for maintenance planning, manpower allocation, troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns, maintaining maintenance records, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities include monitoring critical plant equipment, identifying recurring mechanical issues, implementing root-cause analysis and corrective actions, ensuring timely preventive maintenance, and improving equipment reliability and overall plant productivity. The role will also support the vehicle dismantling and recycling operations, including equipment used for depollution, dismantling, material handling, segregation, and processing of end-of-life vehicles.

The Shift

Manager will contribute to equipment upgrades, capacity expansion, process optimization, audits, and implementation of engineering solutions to improve plant efficiency. ⸻ Qualifications Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering principles, industrial equipment, machinery, and maintenance practices, preferably with experience in manufacturing, automobile, recycling, RVSF, industrial plants, or similar environments.

Experience in supervising shift-based plant operations, allocating manpower, assigning maintenance activities, and guiding technicians while maintaining safety, quality, productivity, and equipment reliability.

Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical equipment and machinery,



with the ability to identify breakdown causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, mechanical layouts, and maintenance documentation.

Working knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance, lubrication systems, bearings, gearboxes, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, conveyors, material-handling equipment, and other industrial machinery.

Ability to monitor maintenance and plant KPIs such as equipment uptime, downtime, MTBF, MTTR, maintenance compliance, breakdown frequency, and productivity.

Proficiency in MS Excel and basic data analysis for maintenance reporting, KPI tracking, and operational decision-making.

Robust communication and coordination skills to work effectively with Plant Operations, Production, Safety, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline. Relevant certifications in maintenance, industrial safety, or reliability engineering will be an advantage.

Good understanding of workplace safety, preventive maintenance systems, 5S, root-cause analysis, SOP compliance, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Basic understanding of automated systems, material-handling equipment, vehicle dismantling machinery, shredding/processing equipment, or recycling plant systems will be an added advantage.

Willingness to work in a shift-based schedule at the Roorkee plant and adapt to dynamic operational requirements in a high-volume vehicle recycling and manufacturing environment.
