About the Role The Senior Research Associate will be responsible for building a robust evidence base for the KHUSHIIs Manobal programme by conceptualising, designing, and leading research studies related to teacher mental health, social-emotional learning, inclusion, diversity, school climate, and child development. climate, and child development.
The Senior Research Associate will identify emerging research questions, design collaborative research projects, publish findings, and translate evidence into improvements in curriculum, implementation, and policy engagement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Identify research priorities aligned with programme goals and emerging ducational needs.
2. Conceptualise and design quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research studies.
3. Design research protocols, survey instruments, interview schedules, and observation tools.
4. Oversee and conduct data collection, management, analysis, and interpretation.
5. Supervise research assistants and interns involved in ongoing studies.
6. Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals, reports, conference presentations, and policy briefs.
7. Translate research findings into recommendations for curriculum refinement and programme improvement.
8. Stay updated with global literature on school mental health, inclusion, SEL, and teacher professional development to inform future programme innovations.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Master's degree (PhD preferred) in Psychology, Education, Public Health, Social Work, Development Studies, or a related discipline.
•3 - 5 years of research experience, preferably in psychology, education, mental health, or child development.
- Experience conducting independent research projects from conceptualisation to publication.
- Demonstrated experience with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
•Experience with research ethics processes and grant writing is desirable.
•Publication record in academic journals or high-quality research reports will be an advantage.
Skills and Competencies
•Strong research design and methodological skills.
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills.
- Proficiency in statistical software and qualitative analysis software.
- Excellent academic writing and communication skills.
- High sensitivity to issues related to child rights, mental health, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
•Excellent written and verbal communication in English; proficiency in Hindi is desirable.
Research Assistant Manobal

About the Role The Research Assistant will support building of a robust evidence base for the KHUSHII Manobal programme. The role will be responsible for day-to-day functioning, including assisting with literature reviews, data collection, data management, analysis, report writing, and coordination of ongoing research projects.
The Research
Assistant will contribute to generating evidence that strengthens Manobal while supporting the development of new research initiatives focused on teacher wellbeing, inclusive education, and mental health.
Key Responsibilities
•Conduct literature reviews on relevant topics.
•Assist in developing research protocols, questionnaires, interview guides, and assessment tools.
- Coordinate data collection activities across programme sites.
- Clean, organise, and manage research datasets.
- Assist with quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Prepare summaries, reports, presentations, and policy briefs.
•Support manuscript preparation for publications and conference submissions.
- Maintain research documentation and ethics records.
- Coordinate with schools, partners, and field teams during research activities.
•Stay informed about emerging research in school mental health, SEL, inclusion, and teacher wellbeing.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Master's degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, Public Health, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- 3 years of research experience (internships or dissertation research may be considered).
•Familiarity with research methods and basic statistical analysis.
•Experience with survey administration or field research is desirable
Skills and Competencies
- Strong organisational and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with SPSS, Excel, R, or similar software.
- Ability to conduct literature reviews and synthesise research findings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
