Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and participate in the full lifecycle of Current Product Development (NPD) for industrial/consumer electronic devices.
- Design, simulate, build, and evaluate prototypes to validate technical feasibility and performance requirements.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and troubleshooting during hardware debugging and validation phases.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with firmware engineers, mechanical designers, and product management team
- Design robust power supplies, including AC-DC, DC-DC converters, motor drives, gate drivers, and battery management systems (BMS).
- Perform component selection, power budgeting, thermal calculations, and worst-case circuit analysis.
- Design analog and digital circuits, microcontroller/DSP interfaces, sensor integration, and communication peripherals (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS-485).
- Create schematic captures and multi-layer PCB layouts using industry-standard EDA tools (Altium Designer, KiCAD, or OrCAD).
- Implement best practices for High-Speed design, Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI), thermal management, and EMI/EMC mitigation.
- Generate complete manufacturing outputs, including Gerber files, Bill of Materials (BOM), fabrication drawings, and assembly outputs.
- Partner with PCB fabricators and assembly houses (EMS) to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Prepare products for regulatory compliance testing (CE, FCC, UL, RoHS, REACH, etc.) and participate in pre-compliance testing.
- Create technical documentation, including hardware specifications, test plans, design verification reports (DVR), and BOMs.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Experience Range: 3-5 Years
- Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Telecommunication, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven hands-on experience in electronic hardware design within an R&D; or NPD setup.
- PCB CAD Tools: Experience with Altium Designer, KiCAD, Cadence Allegro, or similar ECAD platforms for multi-layer board design. (Any one is sufficient)
- Power Electronics: Strong understanding of SMPS topologies (Flyback, Buck, Boost, LLC), power MOSFETs/IGBTs, gate drivers, and magnetic component design.
- Lab Equipment: Hands-on expertise using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, electronic loads, and soldering tools.
- Circuit Simulation: Experience with simulation tools such as SPICE, LTspice, or MATLAB/Simulink.
- Prior experience taking at least 1–2 hardware products from concept to mass production. (Recommended)
- Familiarity with microcontroller architectures (ARM Cortex-M, STM32, ESP32, TI C2000).
- Understanding of thermal simulation, heat sink design and enclosure integration.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to design quality and safety standards.
- verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
