As a Founding Engineer at Zenskar, you'll join our engineering team during an exciting growth phase, contributing to a platform that handles complex financial operations for B2B companies. You'll work on building scalable systems that automate billing, usage metering, revenue recognition, and financial reporting, directly impacting how businesses manage their revenue operations.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic startup environment where requirements evolve quickly and problems need creative solutions. You'll work on diverse technical challenges, from API development to external integrations, while collaborating with senior engineers, product managers, and customer success teams.

Responsibilities

- Build core platform features: Develop robust APIs, services, and integrations that power Zenskar's billing automation and revenue recognition capabilities.

- Work across the full stack: Contribute to both backend services and frontend interfaces, ensuring seamless user experiences.
- Implement critical integrations: Connect Zenskar with external systems, including CRMs, data warehouses, ERPs, and payment processors.
- Optimize for scale: Build systems that handle complex pricing models, high-volume usage data, and real-time financial calculations.
- Drive quality and best practices: Write clean, maintainable code while participating in code reviews and architectural discussions.
- Solve complex problems: Debug issues across the stack and work closely with teams to address evolving client needs.

Requirements

- 4-6 years of software development experience or strong project background.
- Experience in at least one backend programming language, such as Python, Java, Go,



and an understanding of language-specific frameworks and libraries.
- Experience with backend frameworks such as FastAPI (Python), Spring (Java), Express ( Node.js ), or Django (Python). Knowledge of relevant libraries and tools within the chosen framework.
- Understanding of web development fundamentals: APIs, databases, and frontend technologies.
- Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL) and efficient data modeling.
- Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.

Zenskar is building new-age billing and pricing infrastructure for SaaS companies. As SaaS pricing evolves from vanilla subscription-based models to more granular usage-based models, billing and pricing infrastructure needs to be completely reimagined. Zenskar is founded by Apurv Bansal and Saurabh Agrawal, who sold their previous startups to Snapdeal and Gaana respectively. They have experience at organizations such as Google, Basepair, Elevation Capital, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, and Harvard Business School. We are building our founding team, and are looking for folks who are excited about learning and meaningfully shaping the trajectory of an early-stage startup from Day 0 in its journey.
