RDK V/Webkit Engineer

Year of Experience – 5 to 10

Location – Bangalore / Chennai Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain native app components for AirPlay on RDK platforms.

Hands-on experience with RDK stack,RDK-V and native app architecture GStreamer/WPE/WebKit Integrate AirPlay flows with RDK media frameworks and device services.

Optimize memory, CPU, and startup/playback latency for native app scenarios.

Debug playback, discovery, authentication, and session-handling issues.

Work with platform, QA, and product teams to validate end-to-end behavior.

Build and execute test plans for L2S, playback start-stop, suspend-resume, and long-duration runs.

Analyze logs and crash dumps for root-cause and regression tracking.

Ensure secure coding, protocol compliance, and release readiness.

Required Skills

Strong C/C++ on Linux embedded systems.

Hands-on experience with RDK stack and native app architecture.





Valuable understanding of media playback pipeline, DRM/basic streaming concepts, and device resource management.

Experience in multithreading, IPC, and performance tuning.

Familiarity with debugging tools (gdb, valgrind, perf, top, logs/traces).

Experience with Git, CI workflows, and issue tracking tools.

Experience debugging build/integration issues in Yocto pipelines.

Hands-on experience with Yocto build system and BitBake.

Preferred Skills

Exposure to AirPlay protocol behavior and Apple ecosystem interoperability.

Experience with GStreamer/WPE/WebKit or related media layers in RDK environments.

Knowledge of Wi-Fi/network diagnostics and session reliability tuning.

Experience with certification/compliance test cycles.
