PURPOSE OF THE ROLE To own, manage, and maintain the complete financial operations of all group companies — ensuring accuracy of books, statutory compliance, project-based cost tracking, timely reporting, and financial integrity across all business verticals — independently and without ongoing supervision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Core Accounting & Books Management
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date books of accounts for all group companies — both segregated (entity-wise) and consolidated
- Pass all journal entries, rectification entries, and adjustment entries across entities
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) for all companies
- Perform bank reconciliations for all company accounts on a regular basis
- Maintain ledgers, sub-ledgers, and ensure proper chart of accounts across entities
- Handle petty cash management for office and site locations
- Perform month-end and year-end closing including accruals, prepayments, provisions, and depreciation entries
- Prepare Trial Balance, Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement — monthly, quarterly, and annually
B. Multi-Company & Inter-Company Accounting
- Maintain separate books for each group entity with clean segregation
- Record and reconcile all inter-company transactions across the group
- Prepare consolidated financial statements for the group as a whole
- Allocate and split shared expenses (rent, admin, utilities) across entities accurately
- Maintain and reconcile separate bank accounts per entity
C. Architecture Firm Accounting
- Raise milestone-based invoices as per project design stages (Concept, Schematic, Design Development, GFC, etc.)
- Track project-wise revenue, billing status, and outstanding receivables per client
- Manage consultant payments (structural, MEP, landscape, interiors) with correct TDS deductions
- Apply correct GST (18%) on skilled fees and manage input tax credit
- Handle retainer-based and project-based billing structures
- Track and bill reimbursable expenses back to clients
- Monitor project profitability — fees earned vs. time and cost incurred
D. Construction Execution Accounting
- Prepare and track BOQ-linked project budgets vs. actual costs
- Process and verify subcontractor bills — check measurements, deduct TDS, release payments as per schedule
- Manage labour payments including daily wage workers and contract labour
- Track material procurement costs site-wise and vendor-wise
- Maintain WIP (Work in Progress) accounting across active projects
- Track retention money — both receivable from clients and payable to subcontractors
- Handle mobilisation advances given to contractors and manage recovery adjustments
- Process Running Account (RA) bills stage by stage
- Manage and reconcile site petty cash weekly and monthly
- Maintain cost-to-complete forecasts and flag budget overruns to management proactively
E. Real Estate Development Accounting
- Track customer collections against payment schedules (demand-linked or construction-linked)
- Maintain unit-wise sales register and collection register
- Handle booking amounts, allotment receipts, and registration-stage receipts
- Manage RERA-designated account — deposits and withdrawals as per RERA Karnataka compliance
- Pass revenue recognition entries as per project completion method or POCM
- Track total project development costs — land cost, construction, approvals, marketing, and overheads
- Handle brokerage and sales commission accounting and payments
- Track project finance loan disbursements and repayment schedules
F. Land Transactions Accounting
- Record token advances, staged payments, and final registry payments for each land deal
- Track legal costs, stamp duty, and registration charges deal-wise
- Handle JDA (Joint Development Agreement) accounting — land owner share vs. developer share entries
- Maintain JV partner capital accounts and profit-sharing settlement entries
- Manage TDS on land purchase under Section 194IA — deduction, deposit, and filing
- Classify land correctly — inventory vs. capital asset — as per applicable accounting standards
- Maintain deal-wise P&L; for all land transactions simultaneously
G. GST Compliance
- File GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B monthly for each group entity on time
- Reconcile GSTR-2B with purchase register monthly and resolve mismatches
- Handle GST on construction services under works contract (12% / 18% as applicable)
- Handle GST on professional / architecture services (18%)
- Manage Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM) on applicable services and expenses
- Handle GST on land transactions, JDA deals, and development rights
- Manage Input Tax Credit (ITC) — eligibility, blocked credits, reversals, and proportionate credit
- Handle e-invoicing and e-way bills wherever applicable
- Respond to GST notices and handle departmental queries and assessments
H. TDS & Income Tax Compliance
- Deduct and deposit TDS under correct sections — 192, 194C, 194J, 194IA, 194I, 194H, and others as applicable
- File TDS returns (24Q and 26Q) quarterly on time
- Issue Form 16 and Form 16A to employees and vendors annually
- Reconcile TDS receivable with Form 26AS and AIS for all entities
- Compute and deposit advance tax for all group entities on time
- Coordinate with the Company's CA for income tax return filing
- Manage and respond to income tax assessments and notices
I. Payroll & Labour Compliance
- Process monthly payroll for all employees across group companies
- Manage Provident Fund (PF) — deduction, employer contribution, monthly challan deposit, and annual returns (once applicable)
- Manage ESIC — applicability check, deduction, filing, and portal compliance (once applicable)
- Handle Professional Tax (PT) — Karnataka slab-wise deduction and monthly filing
- Manage Labour Welfare Fund (LWF) contributions
- Track and process contract labour payments separately from regular payroll
- Maintain Labour Cess register and file half-yearly returns (1% on construction cost)
- Issue salary slips and maintain payroll records for all employees
J. Banking & Treasury
- Monitor daily cash position across all group company bank accounts
- Manage CC / OD limits — utilisation tracking, interest reconciliation, and renewal documentation
- Coordinate loan drawdowns and repayment schedules for project finance and working capital loans
- Prepare documents for bank loans — CMA data, projections, financial statements, and bank requirements
- Handle Bank Guarantee (BG) and Letter of Credit (LC) documentation where applicable
- Plan weekly fund requirements — vendor payments, payroll, site costs, and statutory dues
K. MIS & Management Reporting
- Prepare and submit weekly cash flow statement with 4-week forward projection
- Prepare monthly project-wise P&L; report for each business vertical
- Track Budget vs. Actual variance and provide written commentary on deviations
- Prepare receivables aging report and coordinate follow-up with relevant teams
- Prepare payables aging report and plan payment schedule accordingly
- Prepare monthly MIS summary for Director / Managing Partner review
- Provide financial insights and data to support strategic business decisions
L. Audit, Legal & Compliance
- Prepare and maintain audit-ready books at all times — schedules, notes, and supporting documents
- Coordinate with statutory auditors for annual audit of all entities
- Assist with internal audit queries and implement process improvement recommendations
- Support Company Secretary for ROC filings and MCA compliance where required
- Prepare financial documentation for due diligence — investor, buyer, or lender requirements
- Maintain organised document management — both physical and digital filing systems
- Ensure compliance with RERA Karnataka requirements for applicable projects
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
