– Senior Accountant Position: Senior Accountant
Department: Finance & Accounts
Reporting To: Finance Manager / Head – Finance
Location: Bangalore Industry: Manufacturing
Experience: 5–8 years Job Purpose The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, statutory compliance, and supporting management with accurate financial information.
Key Responsibilities - Manage general ledger, journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Perform bank, vendor, customer, and ledger reconciliations.
- Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Monitor and control receivables, payables, expenses, and cash flows.
- Support preparation of budgets, forecasts, and MIS reports.
- Maintain accurate records of fixed assets, inventory, and expenses.
- Coordinate with auditors for statutory, internal, and financial audits.
- Ensure timely compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Review purchase invoices, sales invoices, credit notes, debit notes, and expense claims.
- Coordinate with procurement, stores, production, sales, HR, and other departments on finance-related matters.
- Support costing and analysis of manufacturing expenses, material costs, labour costs, and overheads.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and applicable accounting standards.
- Maintain proper documentation and financial records for audit and statutory purposes.
- Assist management with financial analysis and decision-making. Manufacturing-Specific Responsibilities - Monitor inventory accounting and stock reconciliation.
- Coordinate physical stock verification with stores and production teams.
- Analyse material consumption, production costs, and manufacturing overheads.
- Support product/job costing and variance analysis.
- Monitor work-in-progress and finished goods valuation.
- Review scrap, wastage, and inventory adjustments.
- Prepare cost and profitability reports for management.
Required Skills - Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Good knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliance.
- Experience with ERP/accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, Tally, or similar systems.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial reporting.
- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing costing is preferred.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Solid attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities. Qualification - Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CA/CA Inter/ACCA/CMA qualification is an advantage.
