About the Role

Mitesh Rathi Classes is looking for an experienced and result-oriented Academic Counsellor to counsel students and parents regarding IIT-JEE, Foundation and other academic programs.

The ideal candidate should have 2–3 years of hands-on experience in academic counselling/admissions counselling in the education sector, excellent communication skills, and the ability to understand students' academic requirements and guide them toward the right program.

Key Responsibilities

- Counsel students and parents regarding IIT-JEE Main & Advanced, Foundation, and other MRC academic programs.
- Understand students' academic performance, interests, goals and requirements and recommend suitable courses.
- Handle inbound enquiries, phone calls, walk-ins, WhatsApp enquiries and online leads.
- Explain course structure, faculty, study material, test series, fee structure, scholarships and admission process clearly.
- Follow up with prospective students and parents through calls, WhatsApp and other communication channels.
- Convert qualified enquiries into admissions while maintaining a professional and student-focused approach.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, counselling sessions, follow-ups and admission status.
- Coordinate with the Academic, Marketing and Admissions teams for smooth student onboarding.
- Conduct one-to-one counselling sessions and assist students in making informed academic decisions.
- Participate in seminars, school visits, counselling sessions, scholarship tests, parent meetings and promotional activities.
- Handle parent/student queries and resolve concerns professionally.




- Achieve assigned monthly counselling and admission targets.
- Prepare daily/weekly reports related to enquiries, follow-ups and conversions.
- Maintain strong relationships with students and parents throughout the admission process.
- Stay updated about JEE preparation, competitive examinations, academic programs and education trends.

Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as an Academic Counsellor / Admission Counsellor / Education Counsellor in the education sector.
- Experience in a coaching institute, school, ed-tech company or similar educational organization will be preferred.
- Graduate in any discipline; relevant educational qualification will be an advantage.
- Excellent Hindi and English communication skills.
- Strong counselling, convincing and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both students and parents.
- Target-oriented and capable of converting enquiries into admissions.
- Good follow-up and relationship-management skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office, WhatsApp and CRM/lead management systems.
- Confident, presentable, disciplined and professional personality.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet admission targets.
