Role & responsibilities

1. Operation & Maintenance

- Oversee mechanical maintenance of packing plant equipment including packers, conveyors, compressors, and associated systems.
- Maintain clinker loading systems such as truck loaders, wagon loading systems, apron feeders, belt conveyors, and gates.
- Ensure optimal performance and availability of all machinery under the section.

2. Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance

- Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and ensure quick resolution to minimize downtime.
- Analyze recurring issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.

3. Dispatch & Loading Coordination

- Coordinate with dispatch/logistics teams for smooth clinker and cement loading operations.
- Ensure timely loading of trucks and railway wagons as per dispatch plans.
- Monitor loading rates and optimize system efficiency.

4. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure adherence to safety standards, SOPs, and statutory regulations.
- Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments in the section.




- Promote a zero-accident culture and ensure use of PPE.

5. Spares & Inventory Management

- Monitor critical spares inventory and ensure availability.
- Coordinate with stores and procurement for timely material availability.
- Optimize inventory levels to reduce costs without affecting operations.

6. Team Management

- Supervise technicians, fitters, and contract workforce.
- Allocate tasks and monitor performance of the team.
- Provide technical guidance and training to team members.

7. Continuous Improvement

- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Implement reliability improvement initiatives and best maintenance practices.
- Participate in shutdown planning and execution.

8. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain maintenance records, logbooks, and reports.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
- Track KPIs such as equipment availability, MTBF, and MTTR.
