Role Description The Scratch & Python Coding role at FcC is a full time remote position focused on teaching coding fundamentals to learners ages 5–18. Day-to-day responsibilities include delivering live online classes in Scratch and Python, preparing lesson plans and learning materials aligned with FcC’s curriculum, and adapting teaching methods to different age groups and skill levels.

The role involves guiding learners through coding projects, offering constructive feedback, assessing progress, and maintaining accurate records of student performance.



Team members collaborate with other mentors to improve course content, participate in training sessions, and communicate regularly with caregivers and learners to support ongoing engagement and success.

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in Scratch and Python, with the ability to explain coding concepts clearly to children and teens.
- Experience teaching or mentoring learners ages 5–18 in STEM, coding, or related subjects, preferably in an online setting.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills, with a learner-centered teaching approach.
- Comfort with remote work, including reliable internet access and familiarity with online teaching platforms and digital tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Education, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in coding instruction.
- Ability to design age-appropriate projects, foster logical reasoning and computational thinking, and create an inclusive learning environment.
- Strong organizational skills, including lesson planning, progress tracking, and timely reporting.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training, adopt best practices in pedagogy, and collaborate with colleagues.
