Role Description The Robotics Technician role is a full-time hybrid position based in Chennai, with a mix of on-site work at client facilities and some work-from-home flexibility for planning, documentation, and remote support tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing, configuring, and testing industrial robots and robotic welding systems, as well as assisting in integrating robots with fixtures, controls, and automation cells. The technician will perform routine inspections, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and programming issues, and carry out preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation.





This role also involves collaborating with engineers and project managers to support commissioning activities, optimize robot performance, and document maintenance, service reports, and technical findings. The technician may provide user training, support demo setups, and assist in continuous improvement initiatives for existing automation solutions.

Qualifications

Hands-on skills in Robotics and Robot operation, including installation, setup, and basic programming.

Experience with Robotic Welding applications, including welding process parameters and safety practices.

Strong Troubleshooting abilities for mechanical, electrical, and control system issues in robotic cells.

Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance procedures for robots, welding equipment, and associated fixtures.

Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Electronics, or related engineering/technical field.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.

Familiarity with industrial automation components such as PLCs, sensors, drives, and safety systems (preferred).

Capacity to work safely in manufacturing environments and follow standardized procedures and documentation practices.

Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and interact with clients professionally.

Willingness to work in office at customer locations as needed and adapt to changing project requirements.
