The Role
We have an opening for a Research Manager to join the Talentra team in India, embedded full-time with a leading marketing strategy and analytics consultancy serving Fortune 500 companies. You will collaborate with insights professionals, data analysts, and marketing consultants to design, execute, and deliver high-quality strategic research projects end to end. You will serve as a key operational and client-facing member of the team, working closely with US-based Directors and the analytics team to ensure every project meets a decision-grade standard.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Draft and review qualitative recruitment screeners; design, refine, and implement quantitative surveys based on input from internal experts and clients.
- Rigorously proof programmed quantitative surveys in platforms such as Decipher for logic, routing, and data capture accuracy.
- Build tab and banner plans and produce crosstabs to uncover key trends and insights.
- Develop analytical plans and synthesize raw data into compelling, executive-ready narratives in PowerPoint for C-suite audiences. The expectation is not just a clean summary of findings but the ability to identify what matters most to the client and build a coherent story around it.
- Work in active partnership with the analytics team, translating their quantitative outputs into client-ready narratives and contributing to decisions about which advanced methods (conjoint, regression, predictive analytics) best serve each projects research objectives.
- With guidance from Project Leads, serve as the main client contact on select projects, managing communications and meetings with the professionalism and polish to operate without heavy oversight from US-based leads.
- Oversee the operational management of projects: timelines,
vendor and panel coordination, fielding oversight, and quality control across all project materials.
- Liaise professionally with vendors for recruitment, surveys, and data management.
- Train and support junior staff in research design, execution, and analysis.
- Contribute to the adoption of new research tools and methodologies across the team.
What Were Looking For
- 5 or more years of experience in quantitative research; qualitative and advanced analytics experience is an advantage.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in at least one of SPSS, R, or SAS; proficiency in more than one is strongly preferred.
- Ability to produce and interpret crosstabs and data tables independently.
- Strategic thinker who can align research design with client business objectives.
- Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise C-suite narratives.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, solve problems creatively, and work to tight deadlines.
- An openness to utilizing AI-powered workflow tools.
- Bachelors degree in market research, social sciences, statistics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
How You Work
- Client-first: You measure your work by whether it helped the client make a better decision, not whether the deliverable was technically complete.
The quality of the insight matters more than the volume of the output.
- Detail-oriented: You proof your own work before anyone else sees it. Errors in research deliverables have real consequences, and you treat quality control as your responsibility, not someone elses.
- Collaborative: You work alongside the analytics team and US-based Directors as a genuine partner, not as a task executor. You know when to ask for input and when to move independently.
- Adaptive: You are comfortable managing ambiguity, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines without losing precision. Fast-paced does not mean careless.
- Curious and initiative-taking: You actively seek better ways to do the work: new tools, current methods, more efficient processes. You do not wait to be told there is a better approach.
- Committed to excellence: You hold yourself to a high standard on every project, regardless of size or visibility. Delivering something you are not proud of is not an option.
Desirable, but Not Essential
- Experience with Decipher or similar survey programming platforms.
- Familiarity with advanced analytical methodologies such as conjoint, MaxDiff, or segmentation.
- Experience presenting research findings directly to senior or C-suite stakeholders.
- Experience training or mentoring junior research staff.
Working Arrangements
- Based in India, remote, with all employment, payroll, and statutory benefits managed by Talentra under Indian law.
- Working hours aligned to Eastern Standard Time (EST), 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
- Fully embedded with the clients research team. You work as a dedicated member of one clients team, not rotating between short-term projects.
