Role Description The Research Assistant role at Set Narrative is a contract, on-site position based in Goa, India.
The Research
Assistant supports strategic communications projects by gathering, organizing, and analyzing information related to markets, audiences, competitors, and media coverage. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting desk and field research, compiling data into clear reports, and preparing briefs that inform campaign strategies across advertising, marketing, PR, political communications, and corporate engagements. The role also involves monitoring trends, tracking sentiment around clients and issues, fact-checking materials, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver accurate, timely insights.
The Research
Assistant is expected to maintain high standards of confidentiality, documentation, and data integrity while working in a fast-paced setting.
Qualifications
Strong research and analytical skills, including experience with desk research, data collection, and synthesis of qualitative and quantitative insights.
Ability to prepare clear, concise reports, summaries, and briefs tailored to strategic communications, marketing, or public affairs needs.
Proficiency with productivity tools and basic data analysis software (e.g., spreadsheets, presentation tools; familiarity with social listening or analytics platforms is a plus).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with attention to detail, accuracy, and structured thinking.
Ability to work collaboratively on-site with cross-functional teams, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
Interest or prior exposure to advertising, marketing, public relations, political communications, or corporate communications is highly beneficial.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in communications, political science, sociology, marketing, business, or a related field preferred.
High standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality when handling sensitive client and campaign information.
