This role defines test strategies, writes robust test plans and test cases, manages execution through tools such as QATouch, and ensures CMS changes are fully validated before release. The candidate should be able to understand product requirements, technical designs, and engineering tickets early in the process, then convert them into clear test coverage across frontend, backend, APIs, databases, microservices, message queues, integrations, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
CMS Background CMS is an internal platform used to manage content assets, metadata, channels, schedules, EPG data, playlists, and content workflows for a large-scale video streaming service. CMS includes frontend applications, backend microservices, database-driven workflows, message queue integrations, and downstream systems that support scheduling and content delivery.
Skills And Experience 5+ years of experience in QA, software testing, or quality engineering
Strong ownership of QA process, test planning, execution tracking, and release validation
Experience using QATouch, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar test management tools
Strong ability to write clear, complete, and reusable test cases
Ability to review technical designs, Jira tickets, and acceptance criteria to define test scope early
Experience testing frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and end-to-end workflows
Good understanding of microservices architecture, multi-service workflows, and distributed systems
Experience validating message queue–based flows such as RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub, Kafka, or similar
Experience testing systems deployed across multiple clusters or environments
Strong database verification skills, including validating data changes, joins, status updates, and workflow outputs
Experience with regression, smoke, integration, functional, negative, API, backend, frontend, and end-to-end testing
Ability to work with automation testers to define automation candidates and test cases
Strong defect investigation, debugging, documentation, and communication skills
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with Product, Engineering, QA, and Release teams Typical Responsibilities Own QA planning and execution for CMS features and releases
Create and maintain test plans, test cases, scenarios, and execution reports in QATouch or similar tools
Review requirements, technical designs, and engineering tickets early to identify risks and test coverage
Validate CMS workflows across UI, APIs, backend services, databases, message queues, and downstream integrations
Perform regression, smoke, integration, API, backend, frontend, negative, and end-to-end testing
Verify database changes and system behavior across CMS services and environments
Test microservice workflows, including multi-service and multi-cluster interactions
Track defects, validate fixes, retest issues, and provide release readiness recommendations
Work with automation engineers to define stable automation test cases and improve regression coverage
Participate in grooming, design reviews, sprint planning, UAT support, and release readiness discussions
Publish QA status, risks, blockers, test results, and release recommendations
Mentor junior QA engineers and help improve team-wide QA standards Leadership Expectations The QA Engineer 4 acts as a senior QA individual contributor who leads by influence. This role is expected to improve QA maturity, define practical testing standards, identify gaps early, and ensure quality is built into the development process instead of only tested at the end.
