Summary
This role is based at a critical supplier and is essential to supporting Steam Power Services in meeting growing blade demand and ensuring reliable delivery to customers.
The Steam Power Services Project
Manager will partner closely with supplier to drive operational improvement and supplier development across key performance areas, including quality, equipment efficiency, on-time delivery, and order portfolio execution in support of Steam Power Services priorities.
This role will lead the development and execution of a focused improvement roadmap, applying continuous improvement principles and structured problem solving to deliver measurable and sustainable results. The successful candidate will work closely with Supplier leadership and with internal partners across Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Order Management to strengthen execution discipline, improve operational performance, and enhance supplier capability to support delivery commitments and portfolio priorities.
Roles and Responsibilities
Partner with Supplier to develop and execute a continuous improvement roadmap aligned with Steam Power Services priorities and supplier performance expectations
Lead and coordinate improvement initiatives focused on quality, equipment performance, delivery reliability, and order portfolio execution supporting Steam Power Services demand
Apply continuous improvement principles and structured problem-solving methods to identify root causes, improve processes, and deliver sustainable results
Drive implementation of containment, corrective, and preventive actions to address operational issues, improve supplier performance, and prevent recurrence
Support supplier development by coaching leaders and teams on daily management, performance tracking,
and continuous improvement practices
Support the rollout and sustainment of visual management and shop floor operating routines to improve execution and accountability
Identify operational capability and capacity gaps and support actions to address them in alignment with Steam Power Services demand and order portfolio requirements
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align priorities, remove barriers, and ensure timely execution of improvement plans tied to Steam Power Services delivery commitments and portfolio priorities
Support Steam Power Services product and process qualification activities at Supplier
Track progress against milestones, key performance indicators, and order portfolio priorities, and provide clear updates to leadership on status, risks, and opportunities
Drive sustainable improvement in supplier operational performance, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and On-Time Delivery (OTD), to support Steam Power Services execution
Coordinate with Order Management and internal stakeholders to improve visibility, execution, and prioritization across the Steam Power Services supplier order portfolio
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent knowledge and having 10+ years of experience
Significant experience in manufacturing improvement, operational excellence,
and continuous improvement within an industrial or manufacturing environment
Demonstrated experience applying continuous improvement methods to improve quality, delivery, productivity, and overall operational performance
Experience leading cross-functional improvement initiatives in a manufacturing workplace
Demonstrated experience coaching teams and leaders on structured problem solving, daily management, and continuous improvement practices
Experience working with suppliers or external manufacturing partners, with a strong focus on supplier development and performance improvement
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data, identify trends, and drive actions to measurable outcomes
Strong communication, facilitation, and influencing skills
Ability to work effectively across functions, teams, and organizational levels
Experience coordinating priorities and execution in support of delivery schedules, customer commitments, or order portfolio demands
Desired Characteristics
Experience in product and process qualification
Knowledge of blade components and blade manufacturing processes
Experience improving performance in a supplier or partner manufacturing environment
Demonstrated change leadership in a complex or matrixed organization
Familiarity with continuous improvement tools such as root cause analysis, standard work, kaizen, and visual management
Strong project management skills, including planning, milestone tracking, stakeholder coordination, and order portfolio follow-through
Experience supporting supplier execution against Steam Power Services demand, production priorities, and delivery commitments
