Job Summary:

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our AI Platform team. The role involves designing, developing, and owning scalable backend platform services that power AI applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Python backend development, FastAPI, low-level design, distributed systems, and cloud-native technologies while contributing to architecture decisions and mentoring engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain production-grade backend services using Python and FastAPI.
- Build scalable microservices and event-driven applications.
- Design APIs, service components, and database models with a focus on scalability and performance.
- Implement multi-tenant data architecture, immutable data models, and audit-ready backend services.
- Develop robust CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and deployment.
- Build highly observable services with logging, monitoring, tracing, and health checks.
- Participate in low-level design discussions and software architecture decisions.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and drive engineering best practices.





Required Skills & Experience:

- 8+ years of backend software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in Python and FastAPI.
- Expertise in Low-Level Design (LLD) and Software Architecture.
- Experience building Microservices and Distributed Systems.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Containerization.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Robust knowledge of SQL & NoSQL databases, schema design, and query optimization.
- Experience with REST APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, and API design.
- Good understanding of Event-Driven Architecture, message queues, idempotency, and service resilience.
- Experience with observability, logging, monitoring, and production support.

Preferred Experience:

- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus.
- Azure Cloud experience.
- Helm and Kubernetes deployment.
- OAuth and IAM concepts.
- Experience building compliance or audit-grade platforms.
- Exposure to Temporal or similar workflow orchestration tools.
- Experience working on AI/LLM platform engineering is an added advantage.

Education:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
