Job Summary:
AK Institute of Ophthalmology is seeking a dedicated, skilled, and patient-focused Optometrist/Ophthalmic Technician to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in delivering comprehensive eye care services, supporting diagnostic procedures, and assisting ophthalmologists in providing high-quality treatment and surgical care. This position requires a strong clinical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive eye examinations, including visual acuity tests and refraction.
Assist in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of ocular conditions and diseases.
Prescribe and recommend appropriate corrective lenses and vision aids.
Educate patients regarding eye health, treatment plans, and preventive care practices.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with clinical protocols.
Conduct diagnostic procedures such as retinoscopy and refraction with precision.
Operate advanced ophthalmic equipment including Fundus Camera, OCT, Pentacam, Corneal Topography, and B-Scan.
Assist in pre-operative evaluations and post-operative care, including surgery workups and vision therapy.
Coordinate effectively with the medical team to ensure seamless patient care and workflow.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Optometry or Ophthalmic Technology.
Proven hands-on experience in a hospital or eye care setup preferred.
Strong technical knowledge of ophthalmic instruments and procedures.
Proficiency in refraction and retinoscopy.
Basic computer skills for patient data management and reporting.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient-handling skills.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Saturday
Standard working hours: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, including routine clinical operations, patient consultations, and procedural support during the day.
