Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced L2 Database Support Engineer with strong hands-on experience in PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB. The candidate will be responsible for providing L2 production support, troubleshooting database issues, performance monitoring, incident resolution, and ensuring the availability and reliability of database environments.

The ideal candidate should have strong troubleshooting skills and be comfortable handling production incidents independently while collaborating with application, infrastructure, and development teams.

Key Responsibilities

Provide L2 production support for PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB environments.

Monitor database health, performance, availability, and capacity.

Troubleshoot database-related incidents and perform root cause analysis (RCA).

Handle database performance issues, connectivity problems, query-related issues, and service failures.

Analyze logs and database metrics to identify and resolve production issues.

Perform database health checks, maintenance, and optimization activities.

Support database backup, restore, replication, and recovery activities.

Monitor and troubleshoot replication and synchronization issues.

Work with development and application teams to resolve database-related issues.

Execute database changes, patches, configuration changes, and maintenance activities as per defined procedures.

Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.

Maintain technical documentation, troubleshooting procedures, and knowledge base articles.

Ensure incidents are resolved within defined SLA timelines.

Participate in production deployments, maintenance windows, and release activities when required.

Technical Skills

PostgreSQL

Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL administration and L2 support.





SQL query troubleshooting and optimization.

Performance monitoring and tuning.

Backup and restore.

Replication and high-availability concepts.

Database health monitoring and troubleshooting.

MongoDB

Hands-on experience with MongoDB administration and production support.

Query and performance troubleshooting.

Indexing and optimization.

Backup and restore.

Replication and troubleshooting of replica sets.

Monitoring database health and performance.

Redis

Hands-on experience supporting Redis environments.

Troubleshooting connectivity and performance issues.

Understanding of Redis persistence and replication.

Monitoring memory utilization and cache performance.

Troubleshooting Redis availability and service issues.

Required Experience

3+ years of experience in database administration/support or production support.

Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.

Proven L2 production support experience.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Experience working with production incidents and SLA-driven support.

Good understanding of database performance, monitoring, backup, recovery, and replication.

Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple technical teams.

Good to Have

Experience with Linux/Unix environments.

Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or similar platforms.

Exposure to Docker/Kubernetes environments.

Knowledge of ITIL-based Incident, Problem, and Change Management.

Experience with automation/scripting using Shell or Python.

Education
