Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, and administer PostgreSQL database servers.

- Perform database backup, restoration, upgrades, and version migrations.

- Monitor database performance, health, and capacity to ensure optimal availability.

- Troubleshoot database issues related to performance, connectivity, and stability.

- Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database configurations for improved performance.

- Manage database users, roles, privileges, and security in accordance with organizational policies.

- Implement and maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.

- Monitor replication, failover mechanisms, and database synchronization.

- Perform routine database maintenance, patching, and health checks.

- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams for database deployments and performance tuning.

- Create and maintain database documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures.

Required Skills





- Robust hands-on experience with PostgreSQL Database Administration.

- Experience with PostgreSQL installation, configuration, backup, recovery, and migration.

- Knowledge of PostgreSQL replication, streaming replication, and HA/DR solutions.

- Experience in SQL query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.

- Good understanding of database security, user management, and access controls.

- Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems.

- Familiarity with monitoring tools and database performance analysis.

- Knowledge of shell scripting or automation is an added advantage.
