The Pharmacy Assistant supports the pharmacist in the productive day-to-day operation of the pharmacy, including dispensing support, inventory management, billing, stock monitoring, and maintaining proper pharmacy records.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the pharmacist in dispensing medicines as per prescriptions.

Receive, check, label, arrange, and store medicines properly.

Maintain accurate stock records and monitor inventory levels.

Check medicine expiry dates, batch numbers, and quantities regularly.

Prepare medicines and supplies for dispensing under the pharmacist's supervision.

Handle pharmacy billing and cash/UPI transactions accurately.

Maintain purchase, sales, return, and stock registers.

Assist in receiving and verifying medicine deliveries.

Identify low-stock, damaged, or expired medicines and report them promptly.

Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper storage conditions in the pharmacy.

Provide courteous assistance to patients and answer routine queries, referring clinical questions to the pharmacist.

Follow pharmacy, hospital, safety, and infection-control procedures.





Maintain confidentiality of patient and prescription information.

Assist with monthly stock verification and inventory audits.

Perform other pharmacy-related duties assigned by the pharmacist or management.

Qualifications

Minimum: Plus Two / Higher Secondary

Preferred: Diploma/Certificate in Pharmacy or Pharmacy Assistant training

Basic computer knowledge is preferred.

Previous pharmacy/hospital experience will be an advantage.

Working Conditions
