Job Title: PDI Technician / Trainee Inspector
Department: Service Operations / Quality Assurance
Reports To: PDI Supervisor / Workshop Manager
Compensation: ₹15,000 per month (Negotiable / higher based on relevant experience or skills)

Job Summary
We are looking for enthusiastic, detail-oriented candidates to join our automotive team as a PDI Technician / Trainee Inspector. Freshers are welcome to apply! In this role, you will undergo hands-on training to perform comprehensive visual, mechanical, and electrical checks on new vehicles before they are delivered to customers. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity to build a long-term career in automotive quality control and service operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Visual Inspection: Inspect vehicle exteriors, body panels, paintwork, glass, interior upholstery, and trim for any transport scratches, minor dents, or manufacturing defects.
- Functional & Electrical Testing: Test dashboard controls, exterior/interior lights, wipers, power windows, infotainment system, air conditioning, and active safety features.
- Basic Mechanical Inspection: Verify fluid levels (engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, windshield washer fluid), check tire pressures, and inspect underbody components for visible leaks.
- Tool & Accessory Verification: Ensure all owner manuals, spare tires, jack kits, floor mats, standard toolsets, and customer-ordered accessories are installed and present.
- Basic Diagnostics: Use OBD-II diagnostic scanners (training provided)
to perform basic vehicle health checks and clear fault codes or system warnings.
- Road Testing: Conduct short safety test drives under supervisor guidance to assess braking responsiveness, steering alignment, suspension behavior, and cabin noise.
- Documentation & Logging: Complete standardized pre-delivery inspection (PDI) checklists accurately and log completed vehicles into the dealership’s digital service system.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: ITI (Motor Mechanic / Diesel Mechanic / Wireman), Diploma, or Degree in Automobile, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Freshers welcome. Candidates with prior internship experience, apprenticeship, or vocational training in automotive workshops will be given preference.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Genuine passion for automobiles and strong eagerness to learn.
- Basic knowledge of automotive engineering, electrical circuits, and mechanical systems.
- Strong attention to detail and capability to strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Licensing: Valid 4-wheeler driver's license with basic driving proficiency is mandatory.
Salary & Benefits
- Starting Salary: ₹15,000 / month base salary for freshers.
