We are looking for a Packaging Manager who will own the full packaging value chain — from procuring corrugated boxes and flexible films at the best cost, to developing innovative new formats that support our product launches and brand evolution. This is not a coordinator role.

You will be the company's packaging expert — the person who knows every vendor, every material, every specification, and every cost driver. You will sit at the intersection of procurement, product development, quality, and commercial management. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

? WHAT YOU WILL OWN

▸ Own end-to-end procurement of all packaging materials across all categories

▸ Float RFQs, evaluate quotes, and negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times, and payment terms

▸ Achieve annual cost reduction targets through strategic sourcing and contract negotiations

▸ Manage purchase orders, vendor schedules, and on-time delivery to production lines

▸ Track and manage packaging material inventory to prevent shortages and reduce dead stock 02 | Packaging Development

▸ Lead development of recent packaging formats with product, marketing, and R&D; teams

▸ Convert briefs into packaging specifications — material grade, dimensions, print finish, and functional requirements

▸ Manage prototyping, trials, and approvals — from concept to production-ready final sample sign-off

▸ Ensure packaging meets brand guidelines, regulatory requirements, and safety standards

▸ Drive innovation in sustainable, eco-friendly,



and cost-effective packaging solutions 03 | Vendor Management

▸ Identify, qualify, and onboard packaging vendors — printers, converters, CBMs, moulders, and specialty suppliers

▸ Maintain a multi-vendor panel with primary, secondary, and backup suppliers for each category

▸ Conduct regular vendor audits covering quality systems, capacity, and compliance standards

▸ Manage vendor performance scorecards — quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost 04 | Quality & Compliance

▸ Define and enforce incoming quality control standards for all packaging materials

▸ Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards (FSSAI, BIS, FDA as relevant)

▸ Manage NCRs, rejection tracking, and corrective action follow-through with vendors

▸ Maintain test reports, COAs, and quality documentation for audit readiness 05 | Cost & Commercial Management

▸ Build and manage the annual packaging procurement budget

▸ Track price movements in key raw materials — kraft paper, polymer, aluminium, glass

▸ Identify value engineering opportunities without compromising quality or brand standards

▸ Report monthly on savings delivered, cost variances, and procurement efficiency metrics 06 | Cross-Functional Collaboration

▸ Align material availability with production schedules across all business units

▸ Partner with marketing for new product launches — manage timelines and artwork approvals

▸ Support NPD teams with packaging feasibility assessments and lead time planning ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ We want a Packaging Manager who is ahead of the sustainability curve. Recycled-content board, right-sizing boxes to reduce material usage, eliminating inner packaging, and switching to kraft over laminated surfaces are all on the agenda. ▸ Recycled-content corrugated board adoption

▸ Recyclable and biodegradable material substitution across categories

▸ Lightweighting — reducing material usage per unit without compromising performance

▸ Switching from multi-layer to mono-material flexible films

▸ Working knowledge of EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) obligations

▸ Awareness of FSC, ISTA, and other packaging certifications ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

? WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Qualifications

▸ B.E. / B.Tech in Packaging Technology, Mechanical, Chemical, or Production Engineering — preferred

▸ Diploma in Packaging from IIP (Indian Institute of Packaging) — a strong advantage





▸ MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain or Operations — useful but not mandatory Experience

▸ 6–12 years of hands-on experience in packaging procurement and development

▸ Corrugated box procurement and specification experience is mandatory

▸ Experience across multiple categories — corrugated, flexible, rigid, and labels as a minimum

▸ Prior exposure to FMCG, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, or consumer goods sectors

▸ Track record of delivering packaging cost savings and supporting new product launches Technical Knowledge

▸ Corrugated board grades, flute types, box styles, and performance testing standards

▸ Packaging materials science — paper, board, polymers, aluminium, glass, and composites

▸ Print processes — offset, flexography, gravure, digital, and hot stamping

▸ Quality testing — compression, burst, vibration, drop, Cobb, and climate testing

▸ Regulatory standards — FSSAI, BIS, or applicable pharma/cosmetic requirements

▸ ERP procurement systems — SAP MM, Oracle, or equivalent The right fit is a Packaging professional who...

▸ Can walk into a corrugated box plant, a flexible packaging converter, or a moulding unit and speak the language of the shop floor without a guide

▸ Knows the difference between B-flute, C-flute, and E-flute — and when to use each based on product weight, stacking requirement, and print surface

▸ Has personally negotiated with a corrugated manufacturer on BCT targets, paper GSM substitution, and pricing during a kraft paper price spike

▸ Has developed packaging from a brief to a production-ready sample — not just supervised the process

▸ Knows what GSM, micron, MVTR, burst strength, COF, and Cobb value mean — and why they matter

▸ Has managed a vendor panel across corrugated, flexible, and at least one other category simultaneously

▸ Brings structure to sampling, artwork approvals, and change management — not chaos ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
