Experience: 6–10 Years in Cosmetic /Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

1. Job Purpose The Operations Manager will be responsible for overall manufacturing and operational activities of the plant, ensuring smooth production, optimum manpower utilization, quality compliance, timely order execution, cost control, and adherence to GMP, safety, and regulatory requirements.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Production & Manufacturing Operations

- Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production activities.
- Ensure production targets are achieved as per approved production plans and timelines.
- Monitor manufacturing, filling, packing, and dispatch operations.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, raw materials, and packing materials.
- Minimize production losses, wastage, rejection, and downtime.
- Monitor batch manufacturing and ensure adherence to approved SOPs, BMRs, and work instructions.
- Coordinate with Production, QA, QC, R&D;, Warehouse, Purchase, and Maintenance departments.

B. Planning & Execution

- Prepare and monitor production schedules according to customer requirements.
- Ensure timely completion of batches and orders.
- Identify production bottlenecks and take corrective actions.
- Monitor machine capacity and production efficiency.
- Ensure proper coordination between manufacturing and packing operations.

C. Quality & GMP Compliance

- Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with GMP, SOPs, quality standards, and company policies.
- Coordinate with QA/QC for batch release, deviations, investigations, and CAPA.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of manufacturing activities.
- Maintain readiness for customer, internal, regulatory, and third-party audits.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, line clearance, and housekeeping requirements.

D. Manpower Management

- Plan manpower requirements according to production workload.




- Allocate manpower effectively across departments and shifts.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, productivity, and performance.
- Train and develop supervisors and production personnel.
- Set departmental KPIs and conduct periodic performance reviews.
- Ensure proper shift planning and effective utilization of working hours.

E. Cost & Productivity Control

- Control manufacturing costs and reduce unnecessary operational expenses.
- Monitor material consumption and production yield.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.
- Implement initiatives for productivity improvement and waste reduction.
- Monitor OEE, production efficiency, batch cycle time, and manpower productivity.

F. Maintenance & Utilities Coordination

- Coordinate with the Maintenance team to ensure availability and proper functioning of production equipment.
- Monitor preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Minimize machine downtime and production interruptions.
- Ensure critical utilities are available for uninterrupted production.
- Coordinate AMC/service activities for important machinery.

G. Inventory & Material Coordination

- Coordinate with Warehouse and Purchase teams for timely availability of RM and PM.
- Monitor material shortages and ensure production is not affected due to material unavailability.
- Control material wastage and excess consumption.
- Ensure proper storage, identification, and movement of materials.

H. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with factory safety rules, PPE requirements, and statutory requirements.
- Promote a safe working workplace across the manufacturing facility.
- Ensure fire safety, emergency preparedness, and workplace discipline.
- Investigate operational incidents and implement preventive measures.

I. Reporting & MIS





- Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
- Monitor production achievement versus planned targets.
- Report wastage, rejection, downtime, manpower productivity, and operational issues.
- Present operational performance and improvement plans to senior management.
- Maintain appropriate operational records and documentation.

4. Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Operations, or related field.
- MBA/PG Diploma in Operations Management will be an advantage.
- 8–15 years of relevant experience, preferably in cosmetic, personal care, FMCG, pharmaceutical, or similar manufacturing industries.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, GMP, production planning, quality systems, and plant operations.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, communication, and team-management skills.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP and production management software.

6. Authority & Accountability The Operations Manager will be accountable for the overall operational performance of the manufacturing facility and will have the authority to coordinate with concerned departments for manpower, production planning, material availability, machine utilization, quality compliance, and operational improvements.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
