We are looking for a Design Engineer with solid hands-on expertise in SolidWorks to design and develop automotive components and assemblies. The role involves 3D modelling, detailed drawings, GD&T; application, and close coordination with CAE, manufacturing, and program teams to deliver production-ready designs. Experience in the EV domain is preferred but not mandatory; candidates from broader automotive and auto-component backgrounds are welcome.

Key Responsibilities :-Design and develop automotive components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies using SolidWorks.

-Create 3D models, detailed part drawings, BOMs, and production-ready assemblies.

-Apply GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and perform tolerance stack-up analysis.

-Develop designs considering structural performance such as bending, torsion, stiffness, and fatigue.

-Work on sheet metal design, stamping, and joining processes (welding, riveting, adhesives, fasteners).

-Collaborate with CAE teams to interpret simulation results and optimize designs.

-Ensure designs meet manufacturability, cost, and quality requirements (DFM / DFA).

-Support prototype build, validation, testing, and engineering change management.





-Participate in design reviews and work cross-functionally with manufacturing, electrical, and program teams.

-Support material selection and lightweighting initiatives where applicable.

Required Skills :-Robust proficiency in SolidWorks for solid modelling, assemblies, and production drawings.

-Solid fundamentals in mechanical engineering - stress, strain, load paths, and stiffness.

-Hands-on experience in automotive component or sub-system design.

-Working knowledge of sheet metal design, plastics, and machined components.

-Strong understanding of GD&T; and tolerance stack-up.

-Familiarity with manufacturing processes - stamping, casting, machining, and joining techniques.

-Ability to read and interpret CAE results from tools like ANSYS / Abaqus is a plus.

-Exposure to EV components, battery packaging, or BIW / underbody / upper body design is preferred.

-Working knowledge of CATIA or Siemens NX is an added advantage.

-Positive communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
