Project: Global retail client, application support and enhancements

Role type: Client-facing functional consultant

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Finance Functional Consultant to support a global retail customer’s production environment. The consultant will own finance incidents and enhancements, collaborate with customer finance stakeholders and development teams, and drive functional analysis, testing, issue resolution, and production stability.

Key Responsibilities

Own and resolve D365 F&O; Finance incidents, service requests, defects, and enhancement requirements.

Perform requirement analysis, impact assessment, root-cause analysis, functional solution design, and preparation of functional documentation.

Configure, troubleshoot, and support General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash and Bank Management, Fixed Assets, taxation, budgeting, and related finance processes.

Analyse finance issues with dependencies across Procurement, Inventory, Sales, Manufacturing, integrations, batch processing, and customized D365 processes.

Support customized Freight Consolidation and related order, inventory, and finance processes, including functional analysis, regression testing, and validation across test and production environments.

Work closely with customer finance users, business stakeholders, developers, and support teams to clarify issues and drive them to closure.

Prepare functional design documents, test cases, test evidence, user documentation, and release-validation inputs.

Perform functional, regression, integration, and production validation for bug fixes and enhancements.

Attend customer finance meetings,



communicate status and risks clearly, and proactively manage dependencies and escalations.

Work with Azure DevOps or similar tools for backlog, defect, requirement, and test management.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365 experience, with strong hands-on expertise in D365 F&O; Finance.

Strong knowledge of GL, AP, AR, Cash and Bank, Fixed Assets, financial dimensions, account structures, posting profiles, journals, workflows, period close, and financial reporting.

Proven experience in D365 application support or managed services, including incident analysis, RCA, enhancements, testing, and production support.

Good understanding of finance integration points with Procurement, Inventory, Sales, and other supply-chain processes.

Experience working with customized D365 solutions and coordinating functional requirements with technical teams.

Solid customer-facing communication, documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to independently own business-critical issues and coordinate their resolution across functional and technical teams.

Experience with Azure DevOps and multi-legal-entity or global customer environments is preferred.

Retail-industry experience and MB-310 certification are desirable.
