About The Role Tivor Tech is seeking an experienced Medical Coder specializing in Emergency Room and Pain Management coding to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring the accurate and compliant coding of ER, interventional pain management, and personal injury cases, which directly impacts revenue cycle processes and payer reimbursements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of U.S. healthcare coding standards, including ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers, with the ability to interpret complex medical documentation.

Working in our night shift aligned with U.S. healthcare hours, the coder will review detailed medical records, assign appropriate codes, and support our commitment to compliance and quality assurance.

Qualifications The successful candidate should have at least 2 years of U.S. medical coding experience, with a focus on Emergency Room and Pain Management coding. A thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, E/M coding, and modifiers is essential. Familiarity with NCCI edits, medical necessity criteria,



and payer-specific guidelines is required to ensure accurate coding and compliance.

Experience reviewing physician and procedural documentation, along with a solid understanding of U.S. healthcare billing and revenue cycle management, is preferred. Attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills are vital.

Certifications such as CPC, CCS, COC, or CIC are advantageous and preferred, demonstrating professional expertise and commitment to industry standards.

Responsibilities Review and analyze ER, pain management, and procedural documentation to ensure coding accuracy and completeness.

Assign precise ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, E/M codes, and applicable modifiers based on documentation.

Code a variety of ER services including imaging, laboratory tests, injections, IV therapies, and other documented procedures.

Accurately code pain management procedures such as epidural steroid injections (ESI), trigger point injections (TPI), facet joint injections, medial branch blocks (MBB), radiofrequency ablation (RFA), nerve blocks, and joint injections.

Assess documentation for medical necessity, laterality, anatomical levels, imaging guidance, and procedural details to ensure proper coding and billing.

Identify and rectify issues related to undercoding, overcoding, unbundling, duplicate coding, and documentation gaps.

Adhere to CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, NCCI, CMS, and payer-specific guidelines to maintain compliance.





Support the resolution of coding-related denials, assist with appeals, and implement claim corrections as needed.

Collaborate with healthcare providers and revenue cycle management teams to address documentation and coding concerns.

Maintain high standards of coding accuracy, compliance, and productivity, meeting organizational benchmarks.
