Role & responsibilities
Lead planned preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of the HEMM fleet excavators, dumpers, dozers, graders, wheel loaders, drills, water sprinklers and support equipment.
Drive fleet availability and utilisation targets; analyse MTBF / MTTR and drive root-cause elimination of repetitive failures.
Prepare and control the HEMM maintenance budget, spares inventory, consumables, tyre and lubricant cost per tonne / per hour.
Finalise AMC / MARC contracts, negotiate with OEMs and monitor contractor and OEM performance.
Plan capital equipment replacement, rebuild and overhaul schedules; prepare techno-commercial justification for current procurement.
Ensure statutory compliance for machinery under the Mines Act and DGMS, including permits, testing and record-keeping.
Lead a team of engineers,



technicians and contract workmen; drive safety, 5S and skill development in the workshop.
Deploy condition monitoring, oil analysis and telematics/FMS data to move the fleet toward predictive maintenance.

Preferred candidate profile
Proven experience of managing a large HEMM fleet in opencast mining or large-scale earthmoving projects.
Solid exposure to OEM equipment (Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Liebherr, Volvo, BEML, Tata Hitachi, Sandvik, Epiroc).
Working knowledge of hydraulics, powertrain, undercarriage, auto-electricals and diagnostic tools.
Demonstrated ability to reduce maintenance cost per tonne and improve equipment availability.
