Role Description The Master Carpenter at RVM Timber is a full-time, on-site role based in Andipatti. This position involves planning, measuring, and constructing wooden structures and components, including framing, installation, and finishing work.
The Master
Carpenter will use both hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and assemble wood with high precision and adherence to safety standards. Daily tasks include supervising carpentry activities, ensuring quality workmanship, interpreting drawings or plans, and coordinating with other team members to meet project timelines. The role also requires maintaining tools and equipment,
training junior carpenters, and upholding RVM Timber’s commitment to craftsmanship and sustainability.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Carpentry, including structural work and detailed craftsmanship.
- Proficiency in using Power Tools safely and efficiently for cutting, shaping, and assembling materials.
- Experience in Framing work for residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
- Skilled in Hand Tools use for precision fitting, trimming, and detailed adjustments.
- Advanced Finish Carpentry skills, including installation of doors, windows, trim, and custom woodwork.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and measurements accurately.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, best practices on-site, and proper handling of materials and equipment.
- Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring carpentry teams and coordinating with other trades.
- Robust problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Relevant vocational training or certification in carpentry; substantial hands-on experience in master-level carpentry is highly valued.
