Plantosphere Private Limited is developing a growing academic publishing ecosystem with a focus on research, innovation, knowledge dissemination, and digital publishing. We are looking for two motivated and responsible Managing Editors to support the editorial and publication workflow of our two academic journals: 1.

Journal of Agri-Business Management and Rural Development This is a contract-based, part-time prospect.
Both Managing
Editors will work across both journals and will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day editorial workflow from manuscript submission through review, revision, production, and publication. The role is primarily a backend editorial and coordination position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Prepare and coordinate Calls for Articles/Papers.
- Monitor manuscript submissions through the journal management portal.
- Coordinate the editorial and peer-review workflow.
- Assign manuscripts to appropriate Editors/Reviewers.
- Follow up with Editors and Reviewers regarding pending reviews.
- Coordinate with authors regarding revisions, corrections, and required updates.
- Track manuscripts throughout the publication workflow.
- Coordinate the final production stage of accepted articles.
- Handle article formatting and basic publication preparation using MS Word.
- Prepare and organize journal issues for publication.
- Maintain editorial records and publication-related data using MS Excel/spreadsheets.
- Coordinate with Editors, Reviewers, Authors, and other members of the editorial team.
- Conduct or coordinate editorial meetings whenever required.
- Support the promotion of Calls for Articles and upcoming journal issues.
- Maintain publication timelines and ensure that assigned tasks are completed on schedule.
- Work independently while maintaining regular communication with the editorial team. JOURNAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM The selected candidates will work through Plantosphere OJMS, our cloud-based Online Journal Management System, which is used to manage the journal's editorial and publication workflow. Candidates should have familiarity with OJS (Open Journal Systems), OJMS (Online Journal Management System), or similar journal management platforms.
Experience with manuscript handling, reviewer assignment, peer-review coordination, revision tracking, issue management, and online publication workflows will be an advantage.

- Ability to conduct or coordinate meetings when required PREFERRED EXPERIENCE Prior experience in any of the following will be an advantage:

- OJS/OJMS-based journal management A highly advanced academic degree is not mandatory for this role. We are particularly interested in candidates who are organized, responsible, communicative, willing to learn, and capable of independently managing editorial workflows.
WHAT WE PROVIDE Selected candidates will receive access to the required digital infrastructure and resources, including Plantosphere OJMS, editorial workflow systems, relevant journal resources, and coordination support. The selected individuals will have an opportunity to gain practical experience in academic publishing, editorial management, peer-review coordination, digital journal operations, and research communication. FUTURE OPPORTUNITY The initial engagement will be contract-based and part-time.
Based on performance, consistency, quality of work, ability to independently manage editorial operations, and organizational requirements, a long-term or permanent opportunity may be considered in the future.
Managing
Editors may also be considered for additional editorial or event-related assignments within Plantosphere, including participation in academic workshops, conferences, and summit activities, where applicable. Such additional assignments may be separately remunerated.
