Job Summary of Architect (Design Coordination)

The Design Coordinator is responsible for coordinating architectural, structural, MEP, and specialty design activities throughout the project lifecycle. The role ensures that all design disciplines are aligned, design deliverables are completed on schedule, and project requirements, quality standards, and regulatory requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate design activities between architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, interior designers, and other project stakeholders.
- Review drawings and design documents to identify conflicts, discrepancies, and coordination issues.
- Organize and lead design coordination meetings, record minutes, and track action items.
- Monitor design schedules and ensure timely submission of design deliverables.
- Coordinate design approvals with clients, consultants, and statutory authorities.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary coordination to minimize design clashes and construction issues.
- Work closely with the project management and construction teams to resolve design-related queries.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation for design compliance.
- Maintain document control for drawings, revisions, and design records.
- Support value engineering initiatives and recommend cost-effective design solutions.
- Assist in preparing design reports, presentations, and project documentation.




- Coordinate with BIM teams to ensure accurate model integration and clash resolution, where applicable.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Architecture
- 8- 10 years of experience in design coordination, architecture, engineering, or construction projects.
- Experience in healthcare projects is Mandatory.

Required Skills

- Proficiency in AutoCAD,SketchUp and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of BIM coordination processes.
- Understanding of architectural, structural, and MEP systems.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
