About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance In-charge to take full ownership of vehicle fleet maintenance at our Tallaipalli, Gharghoda site. The candidate will lead a team of mechanical and electrical mistris (support staff) to ensure all vehicles remain roadworthy, safe, and available for operations at all times, with minimal downtime.

This is a hands-on leadership role — the ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge of vehicles with the ability to plan, supervise, and get work done through a support team.

Key Responsibilities

- Take complete ownership of preventive and breakdown maintenance for all site vehicles - tata tippers
- Plan and supervise daily maintenance schedules
- Lead, guide, and coordinate mechanical and electrical mistris for repairs, servicing, and overhauls
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults and guide the team toward quick, accurate resolution
- Ensure timely servicing as per manufacturer schedules (engine, brakes, transmission, tyres, electricals, AC, etc.)
- Maintain spare parts inventory, raise indents, and coordinate with stores/procurement to avoid downtime due to part unavailability
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service history, and vehicle log books/MIS reports
- Ensure compliance with safety standards,



statutory vehicle fitness, insurance, and documentation requirements
- Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle utilization, and flag anomalies
- Coordinate with drivers/operators to track vehicle condition and address issues proactively
- Liaise with external vendors/workshops for jobs beyond in-house capability

Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fleet/vehicle maintenance (mining, logistics, transport, or industrial site experience preferred)
- Profound, hands-on knowledge of vehicle mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Proven ability to manage and get work done through mechanical and electrical mistris/support staff
- ITI/Diploma in Automobile, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering preferred (relevant experience may be considered in lieu)
- Robust troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across engines, transmissions, brakes, electricals, and allied systems
- Basic reporting skills — comfortable maintaining job cards, service records, and spares tracking
- Willingness to work at a remote/site location in Gharghoda
- Good communication and team-handling ability
