About The Role We are seeking a Maintenance Engineering Specialist to join the Maintenance Solution Department (MSD) under the Global Manufacturing Excellence division. The primary focus of this role is to provide expert technical support for maintenance programs across Aramco’s global manufacturing facilities. This position involves developing, launching, and continuously assessing maintenance strategies, processes, and practices to optimize equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and operations, to ensure maintenance activities align with corporate standards and industry best practices. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to influence maintenance excellence on a global scale, contributing to Aramco’s commitment to sustainable and efficient energy production.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized and accredited institution, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience within the Oil & Gas downstream sector is required.



Demonstrated technical proficiency in maintenance programs and practices is essential, along with experience in risk-based maintenance processes such as Reliability-Centered Maintenance and Risk-Based Maintenance.

Candidates should have a strong background in Total Productive Maintenance and hands-on experience with spare parts and materials procurement strategies. Expertise in maintenance planning, scheduling, and work prioritization, coupled with experience in maintenance budgeting and cost control methodologies, is crucial. Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP is also required.

The candidate must demonstrate excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to develop innovative solutions for maintenance challenges.

Responsibilities The Maintenance Engineering Specialist will be responsible for a broad range of duties, including: Developing comprehensive maintenance processes, management strategies, and performance management frameworks in line with Global Manufacturing Excellence (GME) standards. This includes establishing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, organizational structures, manpower analysis, and cost assessments, along with preparing reports to evaluate process effectiveness.

Conducting data-driven performance benchmarking analyses to identify gaps in maintenance operations. This involves analyzing maintenance effectiveness, operating costs of assets, spare parts inventory, and personnel competencies to formulate strategic improvement plans.

Establishing baseline maintenance performance metrics and generating regular benchmarking reports to promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the organization.

Reviewing and refining maintenance reporting mechanisms and KPIs, analyzing trends to drive performance enhancements, and recommending actionable improvements.





Analyzing maintenance expenditure across manpower, equipment, materials procurement, and outsourcing strategies to optimize resource allocation and cost efficiencies.

Supporting the implementation of approved maintenance programs such as Total Preventive Reliability Maintenance (TPRM) and General Maintenance Reliability models.

Developing innovative methods and programs for handling new maintenance challenges involving prototype equipment, including pumps, motors, compressors, turbines, and instrumentation systems.

Collaborating with engineering teams and vendors to design alternative parts or systems that improve reliability and performance.

Representing the Maintenance Solution Department on various committees, task forces, and special projects, providing technical expertise and strategic guidance.

Recommending and defining scope of work for contractor organizations to ensure cost-effective and efficient execution of maintenance tasks.
