Role Description The Legal Intern role at Legal Wise is a full time remote position supporting attorneys and legal consultants with research, drafting, and client-related tasks. On a day-to-day basis, the intern will conduct legal research on statutes, case law, and regulations, and summarize findings in clear, well-organized memoranda. The intern will assist in preparing and reviewing legal documents, such as contracts, agreements, and letters, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Responsibilities also include helping respond to client inquiries under supervision, organizing case-related information, and maintaining up-to-date documentation and files. The role offers exposure to practical legal work, mentorship from experienced professionals, and opportunities to build skills in a virtual legal environment.
Qualifications Candidates should possess foundational knowledge of Law and an interest in applying legal principles to real-world matters.
Candidates should possess skills in Legal Consulting, including assisting with client-facing work under supervision and understanding basic advisory processes.
Candidates should possess abilities in Legal Document Preparation, such as drafting, formatting, and reviewing legal documents for accuracy.
Candidates should possess robust Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication and professional correspondence in a remote setting.
Candidates should possess an understanding of Legal Issues across multiple practice areas and be able to identify and research relevant topics.
Enrollment in or completion of a law degree program (JD, LLB, or equivalent) or related legal studies.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Comfort with remote collaboration tools and document management systems; proficiency in common office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets).
Commitment to confidentiality, professional ethics, and respectful, inclusive collaboration with colleagues and clients.
