About The Role We're looking for a hands-on Software Engineer with strong C#/.NET development expertise and a growing interest in applying AI technologies to modern enterprise software solutions. In this role, you'll design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and reliable backend services while contributing to AI-enabled capabilities that improve automation, developer productivity, and product intelligence across Hyland's enterprise platforms.

You'll work within a collaborative engineering team, developing production-grade applications using modern C# and .NET technologies, participating in architecture and design discussions, and leveraging AI-assisted development tools responsibly. Exposure to Python, C++, or Java is beneficial for integration, automation, and interoperability scenarios, but the primary expectation is strong C#/.NET engineering expertise coupled with an AI-first mindset .

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do.

- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software solutions using modern C# and .NET technologies, with a focus on scalability, security, performance, and maintainability.
- Build and enhance RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems that support Hyland's enterprise applications and cloud-based services.
- Contribute to AI-assisted development practices using tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, and LLM-powered capabilities while maintaining engineering quality, security, and testing standards.




- Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, and troubleshooting activities, applying robust software design principles, object-oriented programming concepts, and architectural best practices.
- Investigate and resolve moderate to complex production issues, optimize application performance, and improve system reliability in cloud and containerized environments.
- Collaborate across engineering teams to integrate AI-enabled features, automation workflows, and intelligent services into enterprise platforms.

Role Essentials

- 12+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 8+ years of hands-on C#/.NET development experience building enterprise-scale applications.
- Strong expertise in C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, API development, and distributed systems architecture.
- Experience building cloud-native applications, microservices, and scalable backend services using modern engineering practices.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles, SOLID principles, design patterns, multithreading, asynchronous programming, and performance optimization.
- Experience implementing secure coding practices, automated testing, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development, AI-powered product features, code-generation tools, and responsible validation of AI-generated code.

What We'd Like To See

- Experience with LLM APIs, RAG architectures, embeddings, vector databases, AI-powered search, and intelligent automation solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI, Semantic Kernel, LangChain, Microsoft AI ecosystem, or similar AI frameworks.
- Experience with Kafka, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, or comparable technologies in distributed enterprise environments.
- Experience leveraging GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar AI-assisted development solutions.
- Strong ownership mindset with experience working in Agile product development environments.
- Prior experience modernizing legacy applications and migrating systems to .NET and cloud-native architectures.
